When Always April approached me about co-producing their project, I have to admit I probably had as many reservations as they did early on. I have spent most of my career gaining kudos for my work in country music, so I wasn't sure that I would be "the guy" to produce anything from this genre. When I began to work on this project, I became engrossed in the music of this incredible band, and the intriguing melodies and arrangements of the music. I left this project far more enlightened than I was going in, and a true Always April fan. Thanks to Josh and Charmaine, I feel I have a new path opened to me. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

What can I say about a band that just ROCKS!?
While listening to this CD I felt Insane, hyper and out of sorts... I LOVED it!
Charmaine on vocals has the Bluesy reincarnation style of "Gits" front Lady Mia Zapata and guitarist Josh Coker rocks with intensity and raging loudness like 7 Year Bitch. Extremely Grunge and brutal it makes one reminisce about mosh pits, patchouli oil and B.O. a passionate band,full of energy and raw instinct I fell in love with them immediately. Visions of stage diving and ratted,dirty hair come to mind when the song "ELVIRA" starts up!
Rich guitars,heavy bass,dark drums,insane lyrics what more can one ask for in a post grunge/progressive rock band? Then there is "Variation" the teaser I like to call it. It starts off slow,almost beautiful with nice, soft pristine vocals then starts up the heavy guitars once again then back down. Almost a manic depressive,moody song. Brilliant,gritty and edgy this band is one to check out and throw your deodorant at!

Always April has been described as "Gritty and Relentless...a nervous breakdown live" "...they reach the outer limits of craziness without losing control" says Bob Vinyl writer for AMP, Glide and Fence Post. Charmaine's vocals seduce, assault and amuse all in the same breath. Her off beat stage antics along with members Josh Coker (Guitar) formerly of legendary Sacramento band Phallucy, Bart Huff (Bass) and Paul Heller (Drums) make a powerful, dynamic and truly original sound with a focus on songwriting that has been compared to The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Janes Addiction and PJ Harvey. While hidden in the woods of North Central Arkansas, Always April has been writing and recording in what they affectionately call "The Cabin". Their self released debut cd KID GLOVES weaves plot lines and emotions in perfect contrast with intensity to spare. Lend an ear, spread the word and come to a show!
