Always Together

Always Together is one of the most exciting Murfreesboro music acts, combining bright pop vocal hooks with upbeat folky instrumentation. In a strange international coincidence, Parker Deal, who is the multi-instrumentalist and provides half of the vocal duties, and Sara Watson, the second half of the vocal duo, formed in Belgium during the summer of 2010. Over the summer, the duo wrote many songs and perfected their vocal harmonies before moving to Tennessee to attend MTSU after hearing about their Recording Industry program.

Always Together has been actively involved in the music community of Murfreesboro since the members moved to Tennessee. They’ve played the venue Bonnhoeffer’s, which is located in the back of a church, and at the Trinity Presbyterian Church. They’ve played the Blue Rooster, the Bluebird, Dan McGuinness Pub in Nashville, several shows in houses in the Murfreesboro area, and at the Serve the City Festival in Nashville, which Parker’s father helped organize.

Other than recording their own home demos, their time recording at MTSU with Slade Warren and Nicholas Slade is Always Together’s first time in a studio setting. This has really served their open and fresh brand of pop. From where did this sound come? Parker’s favorite artists vary, but Jose Gonzales, Sufjan Stevens, and Relient K are all influences of his. These artists informed his bright chord voices and lyrical punning, which are then belted by Sara, who brings the charm befitting of the summery pop.
