"Times Union, Albany NY"

Alycia Ercums is someone who isn’t a musician because she wants to be one, but because she has to be one. A true artist whose deep emotional impact is magnified be her mesmerizing charm, charisma and presence.
With her debut release “In My Own Words, “ Ercums reveals an innocent lyrical point of view juxtaposed by mature and knowing musical depth; naïve, yet worldly.
Ercums can change your path; make you think, make you reconsider … and drift away. Seek her out

"Foley Entertainment"

"Passionate singing, piano playing shows alot of talent. The way shes sing is theatrical and passionate, almost as if she were an actress in a movie. If the live performance is as good as what's on the CD, I really look forward to Alycia." - Gene Foley

"Berklee School of Music"

"You are a fine writer Alycia, and I'm most impressed by your lyric skills. You have a wide range of breadth and interest in your subject matters, and you keep it interesting...with fine attention to structure and continuity... You've got an obvious love for it." - Jon Aldrich

Alycia has blessed the Albany, upstate region with a pit-stop on her way to the national scene.  At 17, Alycia created a homemade recording that already drew critical praise as well as a highly supportive northeast fan base. With a fresh, unique sound, Alycia has been lightly compared to the talents of Tori Amos, Fiona Apple and Sarah Mclachlan. Alycia's songwriting talents have made her a finalist in the National John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship Competition, and an honorable mention in Billboard.com’s worldwide songwriting competition.  In ‘04, Alycia, at a tender yet dignified age of 19, joined the national touring act The Geno K Experience as keyboardist/vocalist, and has continued to musically grow in infinite directions.
David Malachowski from The Times Union raves “Alycia Ercums is someone who isn’t a musician because she wants to be one, but because she has to be one.
