BandPopSinger/Songwriter

I do a little bit of everything since I work in the commercial music biz, but the stuff I write is mostly pop. It's not "poppy" pop -- I'd like to think of myself as a modern Carole King in training. I also sing with two politically-charged rappers out of Philadelphia.

Biography

I grew up in a musical household. My father is a composer, and I was raised listening to all kinds of music. The people/styles of music that influence me most are the people he wrote and played for back in the day. Those include Burt Bacharach, Bette Midler, Dionne Warwick, Philly International Records (and the whole Motown movement in general), Ben Vereen, all those guys. I idolize the greats I was raised listening to as well: Stevie Wonder, Carole King, The Beatles, anything Motown, all Jazz... Because of this, I have a pretty diverse taste in music. I went to a performing arts high school, and then went to college for musical theater and music. My current favorites include all the oldies of course, but also Mat Kearney, Robin Thicke, Corinne Bailey Rae, John Mayer, The Black Eyed Peas, The Roots, Amy Winehouse, etc. I believe that music should still move people the way it did in the past. I try to write music that people can really relate to, no fluff included.

Blue Green Sympathy

Written By: Aly Mifa Solot

I fell in love with love.
I thought I’d finally made it.
I was so very sure… but now,
Your arms have a funny way of makin’ me feel secure,
When you’re the only one, who makes me inferior.
You have a twisted way of treatin’ me like a friend,
Cause friends really treat you like you’re you,
I’m so blue…

BLUE GREEN SYMPATHY that I can almost see through,
You’ve turned into a spiraling maze, and I,
I don’t have words to say just how sick you make me,
Cause you’re simple, and you better know,
She’s got nothin’ to show.

I hated being hated.
Thought life could not resolve.
I was so very sure… but now,
Murky waters where you can’t quite see your toes,
Don’t know how you’re standin’, is this the life you chose?
Caught up in such belligerence, can’t come up for air,
It’s best to take a breather, cause that’s how much I care,
I swear…

BLUE GREEN SYMPATHY that I can almost see through,
You’ve turned into a spiraling maze, and I,
I don’t have words to say just how sick you make me,
Cause you’re simple, and you better know,
She’s got nothin’ to show.

And if it were anyone else, I wouldn’t care so much.
I don’t know why I care so much, for you…

BLUE GREEN SYMPATHY that I can almost see through,
You’ve turned into a spiraling maze, and I,
I don’t have words to say just how sick you make me,
Cause you’re simple, and you better know,
She’s got nothin’ to show.

I don’t have words to say just how sick you make me,
Cause you’re simple, and you better know,
She’s got nothin’ to show.

Think of the Good Times

Written By: Aly Mifa Solot

I’ve done a lot of thinkin’ since you left me here alone.
My heart’s so tired of hurtin’, and my soul is cold as stone.
So goodnight my friends… think of the good times.

Your eyes fill up the room with light, your smile shines through the rain.
Knowing that you’re in my heart, helps to dull the pain.
So when you’re lonely… think of the good times.

And I know you’re flyin’ higher than the clouds above.
You’re dancing with the music, doin’ things you love.
And you’re with us, thinking of us, always.
Cause your dance, your dance will always go on.

You never know how good it is ‘til it slips away so fast.
Forget to say ‘I love you’ cause I think it’ll always last.
So when you’re lonely…think of the good times.

Please be there when I close my eyes at night.
Guide me where, wherever you feel is right.
I feel your arms around me, hear you laugh in my dreams.
I feel your dance, your ever-lasting dance.

And I know you’re flyin’ higher than the clouds above.
You’re dancing with the music, doin’ things you love.
And you’re with us, thinking of us, always.
Cause your dance, your dance will always go on.

And I know you’re flyin’ higher than the clouds above.
You’re dancing with the music, doin’ things you love.
And you’re with us, thinking of us, always.
Cause your dance, your dance will always go on.
