Bio

Alyson Faith has been performing and singing for as long as she can remember. At the age of 4, she sat her mother down and told her she wanted to put on a concert. By 1st grade, she was stopping people in the mall asking if they wanted to hear her sing, and crowds would quickly form to listen. This intense and innate love of performing has continued to this day.

Raised on Long Island, and trained on vocals and piano, Alyson was writing her own songs at age fifteen. Her teenage years were rich in musical experiences, including lead roles in musical theater productions. Ultimately she graduated high school a year early to begin her music career in earnest. Since moving to New York City, she has been performing both as a solo artist, and as lead singer of like the R&B/Soul band SBK, and currently, the Alyson Faith Band. She also works with guitarist Neil Cavanagh and other talented musicians in intimate, acoustic settings that aptly suit her intensely personal songs.

Alyson often writes at the piano, and also regularly collaborates with local established songwriters. In 2004, she released an EP co-written with seasoned tunesmith Marc Swersky, recorded at the Hit Factory by engineer Patrick Woodward. One of these songs, "Something To Remember", was featured on MTV's show "High School Stories", while the song "Stranger" was used in the independent film "Dreams and Daylight" (KBLZ Productions.) Her music has been compared to the work of Fiona Apple, Melissa Etheridge, Tori Amos, and Stevie Nicks, but her truly unique voice is distinctly her own. Her live performances are often quoted as having the same fervor as Janis Joplin, consistently mesmerizing audiences with her incredible energy on stage. Alyson has been seen and heard recently at top NYC venues such as the Bitter End, Crash Mansion, CB's Gallery, the Cutting Room, at the 2005 CMJ Music Marathon.
