Biography

As a songwriter for more than 10 years Alyssa now has built repertoire of more than 400 originals in multiple genres, 70+ of them already recorded and a couple getting weekly airplay from radio stations across the U.S.

Her career started by complete accident after she moved to LA in 2003 to pursue her life long passion as a hip-hop dancer/choreographer. Friends heard her singing to herself, forced her to try karaoke one night, and the rest is history. One year later she released her first two albums "The Alyssa Jacey EP" and "Closed eyes... ...open Heart LP." Late 2005, she picked up a guitar and spent hours a day teaching herself so that by only after three short weeks, she was able to perfom 30-minute sets accompanying herself. The following year "The Soul, EP" was released after being flown to Miami to record it. This was the first album Alyssa played acoustic guitar on as well as debuting her percussion egg shaking skills which would later turn in to an unexpected path as a drummer.

Now 2014, over 1,100 self-booked shows performed, 7 co-produced albums self-released (added were “Here’s To Change” 2010, “On the Spot” 2012 and this years “Destined.”), a multi-instrumentalist and mentor, Alyssa is 2.5 years into living in Nashville, making and sustaining a living as a full time solo artist. Lyrics

Integrity

Written By: Alyssa Jacey

I took a breath one day and,
inhaled your smile
That's when I
noticed that it hadn't been there,
for awhile
It's always been me
who;s turned away your frown
And
you know that any day, I'm gonna
welcome one upside down, that's
why I go,

[Refrain:]
Hey, hey,
hey y ey...and you go ooh, ooh ooo
oo

I've wished for a lifetime,
life with you day to day
And I've
got some new rules to follow not
to let you walk away
My time is
fillin' up to a level so
unknown
And I'm feelin' low, oh,
but I'm never on my own, that's
why I go

[Refrain:]
Hey, hey
ey...and you go ooh, ooo ooo
ooo

[Chorus:]
You tell 'em
that you don't like, what you see
in me
Turn around to my face,
you're all about hypocrisy
So why
you wanna start all this is,
beyond me
Been too long now it's
time to move on and I'm gone with
alacrity

Tell me what you think
about your integrity, tell me what
you think about your
integrity

Well I'm a believer
but you won't see me in church, no
no
There are just too many things
that I'd rather learn from the
world
Like the act of aggression
could be the fuel for social
change
And the voice of opinion
is gonna drive us all insane!
that's why I
say

[Refrain:]
Hey, hey
ey...and you go ooh, ooo ooo
ooo

[Chorus:]
You tell 'em
that you don't like, what you see
in me
Then you turn around to my
face, you're all about
hypocrisy
So why you wanna start
all this is, it's beyond me
It's
been too long now it's time to
move on and I'm gone with
alacrity

Tell me what you think
about your integrity, I said
Tell
me what you think about your
integrity, I said
Tell me what
you think about your integrity, I
said (your integrity)
Tell me
what you think about your
integrity, I said
(your
integrity)
Tell me what you think
about your integrity, I
said
(your integrity)
Tell me
what you think about your
integrity, I
said
(oooooooo)

And I'll
go
Hey, hey ey ey, and then I'll
go oooh oo ooo ooo
and then
you'll go
oooh oo
ooo ooo

Hey, hey ey ey, oooh oo
ooo ooo.

Prove Me Wrong

Written By: Alyssa Jacey

Prove Me Wrong
V1:
I am bold,
and I am brave,
But not brave
enough to tell you
I need
you...to move on.
I am weak and I
am scared,
But only around you
and I,
I need you...to be
strong.

Refrain:
I lie awake,
while all of those unanswered
questions circulate.
No
conclusions drawn, this time...and
I...

Chorus:
I need you, to
prove me wrong!
You are
falsified, stuck inside a place
where you don’t belong!
You
deserve so much more than what’s
been goin’ on...
So I need you, I
need you, to prove me
wrong.

V2:
Just let go, just
forget.
Forgive and forget
it.
So much easier said then
done. Oooooh
Cuz you are lost and
holding on,
To a fairytale
ending...Tell me is one good
memory worth all the
pain???

Refrain:
I still lie
awake, while all of those empty
promises circulate.
No
conclusions drawn this time...and
I...

Chorus:
I need you, to
prove me wrong!
You are
falsified, stuck inside a place
where you don’t belong!
You
deserve so much more than what’s
been goin’ on...
So I need you, I
need you, to prove me
wrong.

Bridge:
Tell me, baby,
is this where you saw it goin’?
No?
Then I need to know, oh, ARE
YOU FOR REAL???!!

Chorus:
And
I need you, to prove me
wrong!
There’s no where to hide,
cuz they all can see that you
DON’T belong!
How can things
change when the same thing’s been
goin’ on for so long?
And I need
you...I need you to prove me
wrong!
I are falsified, I’m stuck
inside this place where I know I
don’t belong! I...
I deserve so
much more than what’s been goin’
on...
So I need you, I need you,
to prove me wrong.
Prove me
wrong, oh, prove me wrong.
la da
da da da da da da,
Prove me
wrong, oh, prove me wrong.
La da
da da da da da da...oh...

Down

Written By: Alyssa Jacey

It was cold outside and I was lost in my mind.
Always searching for something I could never find,
but you had the answer the whole time.

I grew up in the arms of love. Never a moment when I didn’t feel enough.
Still I would search for reasons to, fight back, when I was never put under attack, and I...

I know it’s not about, winning the fight.
It’s about taking a step back to see the other side.
So what was my investment with always having to be right?
When I let you down. I let you, down.

Pressure started to, sink in.
And what never used to matter became all that mattered then.
So I lied. I lied to ease the pain and don’t know why, I chose to keep living my life, pushing truth aside, and I...

I know it’s not about, fearing the knife.
Or the words that come armed on it’s back, and stab ‘til you go blind.
Those rosy colored glasses won’t protect you from your mind,
They’ll let you down. Let you down.

Maybe it’s time to grow up. And take getting burned as a lesson learned from staring at the sun.
So here’s to change! Here’s to change and changing my ways.
If I'm gonna leave mark on this earth I gotta let go of yesterday!

And I, I know it’s not about, being right. It’s about keeping my class and swallowing my pride. Acknowledge good intent, now I know good was all you meant...
Yeah I, I know it’s not about, not about being right. It’s about keeping my class and swallowing my pride. Acknowledge good intent, now I know good was all you meant...

When I let you down. I let you, down.
Down, down, no....oh, whooooo ooooo.
