Growing up in a family passionate about music and in the vibrant city of Toronto, the now 18-year-old Alyssa was surrounded with the dynamic and spirited culture that gives the city its celebrated pulse. Having significant sources of art in her life, music was something she always loved and was interested in but had never considered as a career choice… until the day that she first picked up a guitar and started to teach herself how to play.
Alyssa has been strumming, singing, and writing songs since the age of 14 and has since developed her own unique and colorful style. Finally falling into her own soft, yet soulful sound around the age of 17, she has found a place in the hearts of people young and old. Since cultivating her style, she has been able to create charming original songs that embrace endearing lyrics and captivating melodies. Recently she has worked on developing and recording these songs with Jesse Colburn (Avril Lavigne, Closet Monster) and Ian Blackwood (This Is The Noise, The Artist Life). This opportunity has not only given her lasting knowledge about production and recording but has also strengthened her valuable skills of songwriting, arranging and rhythm. The techniques that she had learned are already being used in her current writing and are helping her to hone her craft.
The foundation that music has given her is sturdy and has instilled the values of selflessness, kindness, and benevolence. These qualities are brought to life in the community by Alyssa as she volunteers as a performer for charity events such as the Cardiac Health Foundation of Canada’s ‘Walk of Life’, and the Kensington Hospice’s ‘Hike For Hospice’.
These personal accomplishments have allowed her to be identified as the next up and coming artist in the Canadian music industry by both an independent and major label, along with accredited Canadian producers.
Alyssa is currently in the studio working on her first EP and she continues to clear her own path towards reaching her goals and achieving independent success.
