A.M.

BandRockAlternative

Our music is 1 part hard rock, 1 part classic rock, 1 part alternative, and 1 part car crash. Rock music for the masses with indie appeal. Powerful guitars, battering ram bass, strong/steading drumming, and souring vocals all come together to make A.M.

Biography

A.M. (founded 2001, in Crystal Lake, IL) is a band that defies labels by morphing between genres in the same set, and sometimes even the same song. A.M. is best described as a combination of blues-influenced classic rock, alternative rock, old-school punk, and New Wave British metal. While it may appear on the surface that these musical styles could not co-exist together within the same music, A.M. proves that it can be done, contrary to the doubters. This may have something to do with the mad scientist-like attitude the band members take to making music. With the varied influences of the members coming through strong in the music they write, A.M., is able to bend the conventional boundaries of each genre into which they may fall. This is because A.M. is more than the sum of its parts with each member having strong and different inflences. Lead singer/rhythm guitarist Aaron "Beans" Beinborn brings an alternative rock background; lead guitarist Jack Treptow brings a blues-based classic rock background, bassist/vocalist Matt Van Ham brings a glam and metal background, and drummer John "Dr. T" Treptow brings over 30 years of blues and rock touring background. Having shown their mettle by performing on bills with bands of incredibly varied genres, A.M. has shown the innate ability to move even the most antithetical crowd. Through performances at venues such as The Rave in Milwaukee (WI), The Clearwater Theater in Dundee (IL), The Sheepfest Festival at Purdue University (Lafayette, IN), The Minglewood in Rockford (IL) Duke O'Briens in Crystal Lake (IL), Cal's Liquors in Chicago (IL), and Penny Road Pub in Barrington (IL) among many others, A.M. has shown the uncanny ability to rise to the occasion and perform and excellent rock show. In their musical travels, A.M. has had the occasion to share the stage with such groups as The Locked Sound, Smoke Off Vinyl, The Kites, A Bitter Farewell, Twisting Roses, Ardent Flames, Mad Hornet After Hours, Facing Forward, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, in addition to countless others. With a debut LP currently being finalized, A.M. is working to take their music to the next level. No matter who you are, if you love rock music, then A.M. wants you as a member of the army taking back the music for those who need it most, the long suffering rock fan.

Set List

Our set lists change from night to night. We have been known to do shows ranging from 20 minutes to 4 hours (3 sets). Depending on the length of the show we will throw in covers (i.e. Neil Young, Guns N Roses, Foo Fighters, Ted Nugent, Queen, Smashing
Pumpkins, etc.) to keep a crowd engaged. Longer shows (3+ hours) we do half covers and half originals.
