Biography

Amanda McCarthy is an award winning, multi-genre singer/songwriter from the greater Boston area. She has released two EP's of her original work with more new music on the way, and she has won many awards for her songwriting since her first win in 2011 at the age of 17. Most notably, she has been named Singer/Songwriter of the Year by Limelight Music Magazine along with her album, AAA, being named the runner-up winner for Album of the Year, won the original song competition at the Southern New England Music Expo for "Elephant in the Room", has opened for acts like Jason Lancaster (of Mayday Parade), Hawthorne Heights, and Alex Preston (Third place American Idol contestant), and has toured extensively along the East Coast. You'll find Amanda playing a solo acoustic set, duo/trio style, or with a full band. Playing old favorites and always showcasing new material, her sound and style centers around the pop genre, but each individual song combines elements from other genres including alternative, rock, country, and blues.

"With clever yet introspective songwriting delivered through a powerful voice and equally powerful guitar, Amanda has proven that she has the talent and wisdom to get onstage with the heavyweights and stay there."
