"The Piano at the Punk Show"

It takes something wonderful, if not miraculous, to transform a room of conversation and doubt into a hush of attentive silence. It happened a few years ago at a show Amanda played in Syracuse, NY. Droves of young concertgoers had waited in line to see New Found Glory, Saves The Day, and Piebald. Opening this show was a young and breath-takingly beautiful girl with a piano. The girl and piano weren't exactly identical fare to the guitar riff, great hair, pop/punk bands that would take the stage afterwards. By the end of her first song, however, a pin drop could be heard, until deafening applause and overwhelming surprise flooded the showplace. - The Music Edge

Bio

A young, attractive, classically trained female pianist, carving a niche in the heavy rock world certainly raises an eyebrow. But when you observe the hypnotic connection that she maintains with her audience you get the sense that she's just doing what the classic artists that she grew up with taught her to do - play with heart, simply, and powerfully.

She started playing classical piano at 6 years of age, and her fun-loving parents introduced her to rock bands like The Cars, The Beatles, Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar, etc. At a young age she started going to punk and hardcore shows in Syracuse, NY, and then eventually started playing those shows as well. She started writing and playing shows when she was just 15 years old. Now at 22 she cites noise and indie rock bands such as Godspeed you Black Emperor!, Bright Eyes, Mars Volta, Radiohead, and Sigur Ros as major influences.

She has toured Europe twice and her last visit was an extremely successful headlining run with sold out shows in Germany. Intro Magazine's Readers Poll voted her the #6 female artist of the year, and she has won praise from media all over Europe. She recently finished a US tour in support of indie touring monsters, Jupiter Sunrise, and is currently headlining a tour of the east coast.

Up-coming plans include a return trip to Europe, and tours in the UK and Japan. She will be collaborating with a number of well-known bands and producers for projects that will be released later this year.
