Inspired by the voices of Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, the Jackson Five, and Britney Spears, Amani Starnes brings you Match Play, her debut EP. The songs are whimsical, heartfelt and based on the variations of love. The fusion of pop, soul, funk and jazz will inspire listeners to dance, sing, and reflect on romance.

Amani Starnes was born to perform.
Raised under the diverse musical influences of Kansas City, MO, she identified with people from all walks of life through music, dance and drama. She received extensive training in contemporary dance and theatre. On top of her acting experience, Amani was constantly – that’s always – singing. As a child she led community youth choirs and, as she grew, she participated in professional choirs and city musicals.
Never to be bound by state or continental lines, Amani traveled to Latin America, Japan, and Europe where she had the opportunity to perform with international musicians.
Amani holds a degree in Theater from Yale University. Following graduation, she had a brief stint in Manhattan where she enhanced her skills by taking voice lessons, acting classes, and dance classes at world-renowned institutions like the Actors’ Center and the Ailey School.
Once absorbing all that New York had to offer her, Amani relocated to where all superstars must go: Los Angeles, CA. Amani is a member of Tim Robbins’ The Actors’ Gang and has several commercials, rock operas, plays, musicals, and films under her belt. She's currently developing her act with Pussy Cat Dolls founding member, Lindsley Allen.
Her outlandish life experiences, professional training, and love for the art of human expression continue to fuel her desire to perform and share her voice with the world. Amani is a working actress by day, but by night she presses toward her goal as an independent singer-songwriter. Her debut EP, Match Play, is now available on iTunes.
