With everything that has been going on in society today, this record is much called for and needed. This is a slow tempo song that catches your eye and ears. Bio

Amarii Davu is an American hip hop recording artist from Nashville, TN. Growing up in the inner city, Davu began his music career at the tender age of 12, by writing as a way to escape his day to day reality. At the age of 14, he was inspired to find his own voice in hip hop by artists such as Common, Kanye West, and Outkast. At 16, Davu began his career with rap group “The Remedy”. He released two projects with the trio before embarking on his solo journey.

During his collegiate years, Davu began to take his dreams more seriously. In 2011, under the moniker Black Noize, he released his first solo album entitled “6:15 Daydreamsz”. The project was received with great reviews from fans, blogs and publications alike. He was also nominated for two music awards: A Nashville Independent Music Award for Best Hip Hop Solo Artist and a Hip Hop in the Ville Award for Artist on the Rise.

In 2012, Amarii decided to take a break from hip hop. However, in 2013, hip hop came searching for him. In July of 2015, he released his first single “The Cost of Melanin” from his highly anticipated project releasing later this year, “Khepri”. In March, Amarii made his performance debut at the SXSW Music & Film Festival in Austin, TX. Along with the release of his second single, “Hopeless”, featuring vocalist Auriel and saxophonist Lee Jackson, Davu decided to launch a mental health initiative called “The Hopeless Blueprint”. The initiative is designed to help individuals with mental illnesses share their stories and struggles on camera.

Davu is currently promoting "Khepri" and working on publishing his first book of poetry entitled, “five.”
