Bio

Born in Reykjavík, Iceland August 6th 1975

The band it self is young, it formed during my studies at Berklee in early 2010. But it was a long road getting to the point of forming the idea and the identity of myself as a person ,as an artist and finally forming the band called Amazing Creature.

The story began 18 years ago when I was a 17 year old dyslexic teen. BUT a glimmer of hope I got my first guitar, not knowing notes, cords or any music theory, I started writing music and winning music writing contests.

(I can brag now that two of the bands I beat in 1993 where Sigurrós and Botnleðja/Silt a band who toured with Blur)

It took a while but after dropping out of collage and working a long line of dead end jobs I got in to the "The Reykjavi´k Academy of Singing and Vocal Arts" in the year 2000.

After a year and a half I was performing in major Opera events. But I found out I did not fit in that arena, as I sat at a rehearsal for "The Flying Dutchman" and my iPod switched from Block'Rock'nBeats (by chemical brothers) to Alberto Balsalm (by Aphex Twin). So I quit and again wondered the earth like Kane.

Later I moved to a small town in the east of Iceland called Höfn (1780 people) and I got a job teaching music. After three years of that I could not take it any more, I needed to make music not teach it, again by happy accident in 2008 I found Berklee's online school, after saving up for a year I signed up.

My world changed, meeting dozens of up and coming musicians and world class teachers, learning how to use the latest technology, listen to music in ten different ways, re-listening to all my favorite bands with new understanding. And finally learning how to get the sounds in my mind out in to the world. My sound.

In my last music production course with professor Stephen Webber (voted best online course 2010). Stephen kicked open the last blocked door in my mind, and I became a flood of ideas and the name, the music, the idea and identity of Amazing Creature was born.
