Amazing Graces

The Amazing Graces breathe a welcome breath of fresh air into well established genres. Delivering style and substance in equal measures, front man A-Mens (Anthony Mensah) takes us on a journey rapping about his views on Life, Love, Spirituality and Politics.

A-Mens has always incorporated a variety of styles into his music, but had previously focused more heavily on Dubstep orientated tracks, whilst we can find lead guitarist Alex Fernandes’ musical roots firmly planted in Rock. A-Mens and Alex form the writing core of the band, with A-Mens penning lyrics and melodies and Alex shaping the tracks on his electric guitar.

The addition of bassist, Will Kerr, into the band was a welcome one, with his innovative bass lines proving to be the perfect accompaniment to A-Mens and Alex’s song writing. The soulful vocals of backing singers Ahmar (S.V) Ferguson and Melissa (Missy) McAnulty, add a further dimension to the songs. Their harmonies perfectly complement the tracks and offer a melodic component that completes a well rounded sound.

The latest members to the join the band in early 2012 were drummer Ben Spooner and keys/synth player Anthony Kent. The fresh perspectives of the new additions are helping to develop further, the sound of the band. With such a broad range of influences affecting the different band members, The Amazing Graces are constantly evolving and progressing in dynamic and new ways, whilst maintaining a style that defined the band and has gained them a fantastically loyal fan base.
