"Texas Platters Girlie action BY MARGARET MOSER"

Austin Chronicle's Review of "All the Beauty and the Love"

Texas Platters Girlie action BY MARGARET MOSER

"Amber Lucille affixes her brand of country with a heavy Americana bend that strikes the right balance of dance-floor two-steps and a touch of social commentary. The steel twang of "Dear Brother," written by Lucille for her brother serving in Afghanistan, imbues the song with a sweetness that permeates the rest of the songs. Roots rocker "That's Not Me" fuels All the Beauty with all the power it needs."

Bio

Amber Lucille offers a beautiful blend of Country, Rock, Americana and original music. Amber has been playing guitar and writing songs since her early teens. Her smoky voice and poignant lyrics create an atmosphere of shared love and longing in audiences in clubs, at festivals and even inside the "Walls" at Huntsville State Prison.

She started out in the Houston folk scene performing regularly through the early 90's. In the late 90's, she moved to Austin, playing and singing in various music projects until focusing on her hard rock duo, Full Stride, which performed in the Red River District and throughout Texas and the western United States. In addition to guitar, Amber also honed her skills on bass guitar and drums.

In early 2008, Amber returned to her roots, with her namesake band, Amber Lucille. She wants to spread hope and encouragement with her original music, much of which has been released on her self-titled EP, "Amber Lucille," and her full-length CD, "All the Beauty and the Love," co-produced by Omar Vallejo and released in summer 2010. Amber has a new album called "That Love that Never Ends" set for release in the Spring of 2012 with a CD release show at The Continental Club recorded at Wonderland Studios Austin, TX with Tim "Tank" Casterline. You can preview some of the tracks from both albums here on Sonicbids.

The solid band line-up includes Amber Lucille on bass, guitar and vocals, Charlie Murphy on B-Bender lead guitar and vocals and Melodie Zapata on drums and vocals. All the band members write and sing their own music, as well as offering backup and sweet harmonies to Amber's songs. Amber Lucille has opened for, or shared the stage with Kevin Fowler, Seth James, Billy Joe Shaver, The Mother Truckers, Micky and the Motorcars, James Otto, Jeff Allen, Vallejo and Rosehill to name a few...
