Bio

People used to ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up and I always said "a singer". It never really occured to me that I could do it as living, I just knew I loved it, now that has become my goal. I have a unique voice and I like to sing songs that are motivational, whether it be to dance or cry. I have been singing ever since I can remember, and on a stage at that. I learned to strum along on the guitar at the age of 16, and I haven't stopped learning. Growing up on a farm defintely had it's ups and downs, but for the most part it was wonderful and out at the barnyard there was always someone out there to listen, and not complain when I would sing my new favorite song over and over, (my brothers and sister were not quite as forgiving:)), and I don't know what it was like in your household but there was a "no singing at the supper table" rule :). I grew up listening to 50's & 60's Rock & Roll and Classic Country, my parents loved to dance as did my whole family, and most weekends consisted of going to a family dance at a hall somewhere in the area or to the neighbors for a party. Music has always been an important part in my life, and not only has it become my life it has shaped it into a very wholesome and proud way to live.
I started my self named band about 3 years ago with a family of three brothers I grew up with and a neighbor and my love of entertaining blossomed. Our favorite type of music to play is Country Rock with a little of the old and a little of the new all mixed in together, and it seems to be working great so far as there is a little something for everyone. We've played gigs starting at the local Legion all the way to opening for Gord Bamford, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and kicking off the Kick Off Party at Big Valley Jamboree. I have entered singing competitions along the way, some I have won, others I did not. I was crowned the grand winning act in the Northlands Country Vocal Spotlight Competition, that has so far been the last singing competition. But one competition imparticular was the Rising Star Competition held in Red Deer, at the semi final, I won the crowd vote, and then at the finals where I placed third, I won the crowd vote again. That has been one of my greatest honors yet.
I am always playing shows like rodeos, cabarets, dances, concerts, acoustic performances and fundraisers all the while a mother of two.
My family and I are dragging up our roots this year and hitting the road, first stop is CCMA's in Hamilton Ontario. Then down to Nashville for a few months. My plans there consist of learning, writing, recording and releasing. Leading up to a cross Canada tour to promote a brand new album and my career with my family right there beside me. Please have a listen to the tunes I have already recorded as you should be hearing them on the radio in the near future. Please request and support your local artists. We are here for you, we are here because of you. Cheers!
Thank you,
xoxo
