Bio
Amechaye is a klezmer band based in Jerusalem that present a rich fusion of influences, western classical music and jazz, Middle-Eastern and Balkan .
The music is rooted in the diverse repertoire of the Klezmer tradition as well as original compositions.
The synthesis of these musical worlds comes very naturally with the diverse backgrounds of the bands members:
Mati Bobek – clarinet, a classical musician and a music therapist , first clarinet and soloist at the ra'anana orchestra, part of the meidalle project that incorporate modern dance and flamenco music.
Tzurit Yair – percussion, studied at the Musrara School for music from the east. A member in Eitan Ullmans band, plays in flamenco ensembles and part of the upright hat project
Yoav Colombus – bass, a student in the Jerusalem music academy, plays in the New Orleans band, and various jazz ensembles.
Vera Gorenshtein – a student in the Jerusalem music academy, a member in the folk rock band ''red meadow'' , in Eitan Ullmans band, and in Altezachen blues.
Roi Fadida – guitar , founder of the frank zappa memorial bbq, and Altezachen blues.
Amechayes influences range from early klezmer musicians such as Dave Tarras, Naftule Brandwein, Abe Schwartz to modern bands like the The Klezmatics , kroke , davka, mesada
