Biography

It’s a mistake to describe her sound as anything but SOUL. Amelia Ali is a young Caribbean American woman whose every step in life is guiding her toward the music. Comparable to Joss Stone, Adele and Alicia Keys she has a Classic Blues soul with a dash of Pop R&B that defines her tender artistry. Her songwriting resonates wisdom of the ages and guides everything as she is re-writing the groove at Berklee College of Music. Making waves as a 3rd semester student, Miss Ali performed with the Grammy Award winning Bernice Johnson Reagan and has received invitation to perform with another Grammy Award winning artist Jack Dejonette. She will perform his renowned contemporary Jazz World Music at Berklee this October in the Berklee Performance Center.

It all started at a 6th grade talent show singing Groove Theory ‘s, “Tell Me” and was followed by years of studying the infamous vocals of Mariah, Whitney and Celine. Amelia Ali is the winner of dozens of showcases in Boston and New York from 2002 to present day, notably one hosted by Flavor Flav in NYC 2007. In the same year she achieved success as the prevailing talent amongst 50 auditioners who were competing for the opening act for Ludacris. Miss Ali’s rendition of Mary J. Blige’s cover song “No More Drama” was a perfect reflection of her life. “I performed for an arena of over 2000 people, sharing the stage with Ludacris & Latoya Luckett. I know it’s my time to shine.” Soon after she was invited to perform the national anthem by the CEO of Verizon Inc. at Rockefeller Center’s famous “Top of the Rock.”

As a student she is pursuing a Music Business major while honing her skills as a composer. As a songwriter Amelia has recently written a song “Sweet Delight” currently being shopped for an upcoming Ciara album. Having recently spent time in an exclusive “up close and personal” with John Legend, it is without doubt that Amelia Ali’s personal drive has set her on a path of music that is unstoppable and inevitable.

Lyrics

Cant Call It Love

Written By: AM-FM

VERSE 1
I keep seeing you in unexpected places
It's funny cuz it feels like we should share the same spaces
Running in different circles
Time and space between us

CHORUS
Call it luck call it chance
Maybe this time it's romance
Make it real make it true
Make it us not me and you
It's whatever you want, but ya' can't it love

VERSE 2
First time I looked without a lens
*I hoped that our sunset would never end
It's like when gravity pulls you down
suddenly you hit the ground

CHORUS
We can call it luck, call it chance
Maybe this time it's romance
Make it real make it true
Make it us not me and you
It's whatever you want, but ya' can't call it love

BRIDGE
I don't want to built things up and then fall in love
Don't want to spark a fire just for the sake of
A moment between us that could burn out
But what love ever started without any doubt

We can call it luck, call it chance
Maybe this time it's romance
Make it real make it true
Make it us not me and you
It's whatever you want, and we might call it love
