American Honey Project

BandPopRock

Refusing to be defined by genres such as rock, pop, country, or folk, American Honey Project is all of those things and much more! Come check us out!

Biography

American Honey Project began while sipping warm bourbon on an unusually cold Spring evening. Justin Patterson and Justin Bales felt the need to release their creative energies with something that simply sounded good and unique, but had a wide appeal. Within what seems like seconds, American Honey Project was born, refusing to be defined by genres such as rock, pop, country, or folk. With a large list of familiar and family-friendly covers and some originals of our own, this past July saw AHP representing their home town of Bel Air, MD by showcasing opening night at the Harford County Farm Fair (returning again in 2009) and was the entertainment for the U.S. National Whitewater Slalom Championships in Deep Creek Lake (also with a request to return). This October AHP performed at a members-only celebration of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michael's, MD (with the request for additional dates) and for the Susan G. Coleman Race for the Cure in Hunt Valley, MD. AHP’s last show of 2008 was Huckleberry’s Coffee and Tea in December. Many 2009 dates are being lined up that include the aforementioned return to Farm Farm, the Richmond, VA Earth Day Celebration and Relay for Life charity event in Fallston, MD!

American Honey Project has experience playing to large crowds, the last to over 30,000 people. American Honey Project has also always received very positive responses from the crowds and marketing directors, which have consistently resulted in an invite back to the venue. Let AHP be the Entertainment Your Audience will remember!

Lyrics

Sun and Moon

Written By: Justin Patterson

With all the sinners out in the world
It's nice to know of a Saintly City
Where the smoked tea leaves and sweets can grow
Oh it's nice to know

Where little kids like to ride their bikes
And everyone else they got the feeling
There's boats in the harbor, next to lovers
They got the feeling, you know

Sun and Moon it's all over me
Girl and Boy Sweat
Sun and Moon they play casually
Girl and Boy Sweat

Sweetest grows out to water
And it's got to be the better part of me
The loveliest lovelys at a casual pace
We'll all sleep so soundly

Sun and Moon it's all over me
Girl and Boy Sweat
Sun and Moon they play casually
Girl and Boy Sweat
It's all over you and all over me
You can't deny this love
Sun and Moon
Fish and Tea
Girl and Boy Sweat

Angels

Written By: Justin Patterson

Hey Baby, where you hidin' all those angels at?
When you go out and look like that
Oh, it's the very best way

Hey Honey, a sinner's heart crys out for a bit of your love
Dirty image from above
Just wanna get away...

Oh so righteous, you're so much bigger than any bit of myself
Oh and you just can't help
We're all so blow away

Silk and lace
Imagine you, imagine me face
All the sinners that grace more grace than our grace could ever pull away

Hey Honey, where you hidin' all thos angels at?
When you go out and look like that
Oh it's the very best way

You don't care about that
You look like that
You just wanna get away

Oh you don't care about that
You look like that
You need it like that
You just wanna get away

Saltwater Cowboy

Written By: Justin Patterson

That's why they need me to stay around here
In case something happens in the town

Riding up on a boat so brave
Gotta up and catch that wave
That's where a Saltwater Cowboy is found

We answer our calls from a bottle
Messages sent from dry land
The dry docks, dry locks are calling me in

So unnerving
Let me be
Sounds of thunder that echo night
There's so much noise and so much to see
Oh I open wide

Time stops when you're on shore
Times rolls when you're at sea
But I will stand my ground
No matter what they may be

I don't do it for the fame
Don't do it for the money's claim
Don't do it for the pretty faces I see

So unnerving
Let me be
Sounds of thunder that echo night
There's so much noise and so much to see
Oh I open wide

Riding up on a boat so brave
Gotta up and catch that wave
Yea, yea...

Oh my, yea...

Unwind

Written By: Justin Patterson

Old man, your hands
Burnt by the sun
Still work enough to give love, love, love

With kindest wandering eyes
You're needing to unwind
The best is meant to come she'd say
Through ocean crashing tides
The tastes of her skin
The way she looked at midnight rings in

On your way
Bury your own
Lie tell them all it'll be alright
On your way
Carry her soul
Lie tell them all it'll be alright

Ferris wheel broke down
Salt rusted gears
The way she looked at midnight rings in
And through all of this time
This goodness and life
We're needing to unwind she'd say

On her way
Carry her soul
Lie tell them all it'll be alright
On your way
Bury your own
Lie tell them all it'll be alright

He's needing all of his time
He's needing to unwind
