"American Mannequins" is a rock band from Athens, Georgia. While the bands' current lineup formed recently, the entire project spawned from late night basement jam sessions in 2008 between guitarist Taylor Combs and then-drummer (now Synth/guitarist) Thomas Barton. After some shuffling of musicians over the years, vocalist Curtis Vorda, and drummer Chris Aggeles finalized the lineup in early 2013. Their unique blend of soaring vocal melodies and insightful, image-rich lyrics with driving guitar and expressive, exotic rhythms has been described as "thoughtful, melodic, and dance-able rock n' roll."
Their listed influences include Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, My Morning Jacket, Talking Heads, Prince, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, and many more.
