"Amethyst releases New Album - Nostalgia!"

Amethyst, Returned US Soldier from Operation Enduring Freedom, Releases New Album, "Nostalgia"

Album release party at Buzzplay.com's annual Holiday event at The Knitting Factory this Thursday, December 15, 2005. Albums are available onsite as well as online at http://www.amethystlive.com

(PRWEB) December 14, 2005 -- The No. 1 artist on Buzzplay.com, The Newbury Park resident Amethyst keeps burning up the charts with her songs from her new album recorded at Insomnyac Entertainment in Oxnard (www.insomnyacentertainment.com). While some of her songs are exclusive to buzzplay.com, she is also on other indie music stations like Funender. At Funender, in the Indie Pop Section, this week, one of her Songs, the title cut from her album is #2 and climbing!

My space seems to be the place to go for most artists and you can certainly find her there - www.myspace.com/Amethystmusic as well as www.myspace.com/12923802. Amethyst can also be found on iac.com, purevolume.com, garageband.com, audiostreet.net and many other indie sites.

Amethyst (www.amethystlive.com) is the #1 Artist on www.Buzzplay.com but not so long ago she was "Just another Soldier", playing for thousands of our Soldiers in Uzbekistan, Kuwait, Quatar, Afghanistan and all the US camps in Iraq. She was inspired to use music to heal by her collective life experiences. She wears a necklace that embodies her commitment to God - Charms say, "Faith, Love, Heal, Inspire" and those are the what Amethyst stands for. In a word, "Inspired" could be taken to new depths in song writing.

Singer/Songwriter, Amethyst, takes a step back in time to discover the dreams and aspirations of her Great Aunt Isabel, (from the song, "Miss Arizona") whom she believes inspires her to this day to write music for women who have a story to tell, a dream to live and a life from which to emerge victoriously. Where one person takes music and writes abstract lyrics, Amethyst often writes ballads with a story entwined. Any listener could exude a positive message to uplift one's spirit and apply it to their own life when listening to her music. Her feeling is that when one person takes the time to share what God has given them, others benefit from it somehow. Amethyst said, "I learn from others every day of my life. I hope that someday I can be that same kind of help for someone." She is looking forward to playing Thursday night at The Knitting Factory.

Another one of her songs, "All Outta' Quarters", sung recently at the www.voicesagainstpoverty.com concert at Biola University inspires us to not forget those in need daily and especially during the Holidays. Reach out and gain the inspiration to dig deep and put a little in the cup of the the man around the corner....because he's all out of quarters and losing his faith in mankind. As usual, Amethyst will also be playing "Just Another Soldier" as a tribute to her armed forces brothers and sisters overseas and at home.

Avion Blackman -(www.avionblackman.com) From the band Christafari comes Avion Blackman with a sound described as"Sademeets Norah Jones with world music Undertones." Avion is a native of Trinidad and daughter of the inventor of Soca and Jamoo music, Ras Shorty I. She began singing on stage at the age of four on tour with her father. In 2003, Avion moved to Los Angeles, CA, married Mark Mohr and joined Christafari as the bassist and a vocalist of the group. She became well-known internationally for her ethereal lead vocals on Christafari's "Hiding Place" and "My Sustenance" on the group's critically acclaimed Gravity release. In January of 2005 the recording began for Blackman's first album "Onyinye" (pronounced 0we-neen-yay). "Onyinye" means Gift in the Nigerian language Igbo. On this heartwarming gospel release, Avion sings tender songs about
her love for God and man. This is an intimate album that contains a blend of reggae, R&B, jazz, jamoo, Indian and Africanrhythms. In promotion of
"Onyinye", Avion and her band are currently traveling the world performing with Christafari, Solomon Jabby, and others on the Reggae Redemption Tour. Live on stage Avion sings of the greatest gift of all--Life eternal.

Mike Barnet - (www.mikebarnetmusic.com)Migrating from Seattle, Washington to Fullerton, California, Mike Barnet’s musical journey has been a few years in the making. Thought provoking and socially aware, Mike Barnet's lyrics contain a spirit that is missing in most songs written today. Blending elements of folk, groove and protest, Mike creates music to think and vibe to. In the vignette vein of artists as varied as Nick Drake, Nina Simone, Richie Havens, Johnny Cash, Ani DiFranco, Bob Marley and Bob Dylan, Barnet's music has a unique flavor, filled with
soul-bearing honesty and hard hitting reality. The common thread woven through each of his masterful stories is a message of self-examination and hope. Armed with his acoustic guitar, Mike Barnet has the rare ability to
create songs memorable enough to shake world views to the foundation. And if given the chance, he will capture the minds of anyone with in earshot.

Justice for Mary (www.justiceformary.com)
"Justice for Mary, "Justice for Mary" independent) - As accessible as it is
eclectic, the self-titled debut from Mission Viejo-based Justice for Mary touches on styles such as modern agro-rock, '80s new wave and post-grunge without fitting snugly into any of those genres. "Overlife" could have been at home alongside any of U2's '80s hits but boasts the heavy, layered guitars of contemporary rock, while "My Life Disorder" blends reggae-tinged
spoken word verse with explosive rock choruses in the spirit of 311. The material, Notably "Saturday, Ode to Mourning," is powerfully delivered across the six-song disc. You might like if you enjoy: Evanescence,
Smashing Pumpkins, 311." Robert Kinsler “Orange County Register” August 18, 2005.

Melissa Marie - Melyssa Marie Foulk is a 22 year old graduate from Azusa Pacific majoring in Communications with a minor in Spanish. Better known to her music audience as Melyssa Marie, she has been involved in music her whole life, playing piano since the age of 5 and guitar since 18. All of her music is 100% original. Some of her inspirations include Fiona Apple and Ani DiFranco. Melyssa is from a big family born and raised in Carlsbad, CA. Besides music, Melyssa loves to travel, read and write. Melyssa Marie is currently working on her first CD with an independent company, "Bien Surf Industries".

(PRWEB) June 28, 2005 -- BUZZPLAY.COM Presents a July showcase of talent at The Knitting Factory. has a rich history in North America beginning in New York in the 80s. At the height of the disco era and the beginning of punk, The Knitting Factory was and is probably the premier artist launch pad in the United States. Moving to Los Angeles, the heartbeat of Hollywood, The Knitting Factory has doubled their professional career proving that the entertainment fun does not end or begin in New York, it is an extension of excellence.

They have a professional program beginning with the premise that they do not pay to play. You, as an artist are there because they believe in your dream; your product of music and song. The staff helps co promote the venue's events with each performer. Tirelessly, both send out flyers and promote the music of the evening. The product is a well balance evening of quality music and entertainment. The beautiful thing about The Knitting Factory is that they work hard to support all the bands that perform and the bands usually stay around to support one another.

The caring and professionalism that BUZZPLAY uses strikes a beat on the Independent drum of Performing Artists. They are honored that Buzzplay wants each band to sound their best and are there to help in one way or another they have what they need to succeed. Buzzplay has the first Thursday of the month at The Knitting Factory and the evenings prove to all that Rock and Roll is here to stay. Was there ever a doubt? :)

"Making Indie Music News - Saturday, Jan 7, 2006 is Amethyst at the Cobalt Cafe in Canoga Park"

Amethyst is a singer/songwriter from the Conejo Valley who is a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. She is to play Rock Music at the Cobalt Cafe in Canoga Park, CA...No smoking, No drinking, no cussing...no kidding! In this day of broken homes, confused identities, low self esteem and no place to go, teenagers need a place where they can be safe and listen to good music. Do you need a safe place to be where you can listen to music, but there is no smoking, no drinking of alcohol, no raves, no drugs, no cussing? You need to make a stop at the Cobalt Cafe in Canoga Park, California!

(PRWEB) January 5, 2006 -- Amethyst, the #1 Alternative performer at http://www. Buzzplay.com,( click Alternative once you reach the site) is making Indie Music News as a former soldier in the US Army who toured Iraq to entertain the soldiers. She was very interested when she was asked to perform at the Cobalt Cafe. She has met lots of soldiers, both men and women, in the Armed Forces, who had lived a tough life and had low self esteem when they were growing up. One of her favorite things to do is to play music which will lift their self esteem and make hem feel better about themselves. She believes in giving back to the community, so when Jonathan Wright asked her to perform on January 7, 2006, for a fundraiser to help raise money for a heart transplant for a friend of the Cobalt Cafe, she was right there.

"It isn't often that you can help bring joy to kids lives and help someone get a new heart - this is a such a worthy cause. I'm hoping that many of my friends and fans will come down to show support. What a great way to start out the New Year", she exclaimed.

This is what Amethyst's music is about - healing and giving back to others. Her song Wake Up Call is about not waiting around until your last day on earth to speak up and make a difference in other's lives. "First start with yourself", says Amethyst, "Change you and be the changes you want to see in the world - like that movie, "Pay it Forward".

Thanks to the Cobalt Cafe, other kids are able to express themselves, play music in a positive environment and get a taste of what it is like to put on a great show for others. Their tough love rules about flyers are here: Flyer Rules

All bands are responsible for making their own flyers and take full responsibility of the following rules.
