Bio
Amity Three was formed in late 1999 as an extension of Dewey Robbins' solo shows. As Dewey began to develop an internet fan base, he decided to assemble a band and perform live. The results were better than he or his fans expected.
By adding the loud drums of Dave Stevens and the melodic bass playing of Lenny Soletti, Robbins has added a new dimension to his unique brand of songwriting. Gone is the layered sound employed on his solo releases, and in its place is a new, but transitional style of bitter songs and catchy choruses using far fewer tracks.
Amity Three's debut release, The Coppertop EP mixes Robbins trademarked soft and pained voice with a forcefulness and urgency. The band's new life has great promise and late 2002 will bring a full-length cd and an East coast tour.
