Biography

New York City is world-renowned as a place where the latest and greatest musical styles and acts emerge. From the golden age of jazz in the 40’s on 52nd Street, folk in the Village during the 60’s and punk in the late 70’s, to anything and everything in between today, it’s no wonder that one of the most up-and-coming acts on the music scene –AM Low - got its start here.

Classifying AM Low’s sound into one particular genre would be a difficult task. The four members call on their different musical backgrounds to create songs in which elements of pop, jazz, funk, and classic rock can be heard. Frontman Peter Jan said of the band, “People ask what other bands do we sound like, and it’s hard to give them a straight answer – we sound like AM Low. We write together and each of us adds an essential bit to what we are.” Their sound may be hard to classify, but is highly accessible to any music fan, making them a much sought-after group.

Choosing to become a band was not a difficult decision for these four men. All were musicians from a young age, and their desire to create brought them together into this new form. Their task was to write music that anyone could enjoy. The songs are simple stories that one can understand and reflect on. Whether the subject is sad or happy, it is meant to be a celebration of our time.

AM Low has that sound that people want to hear. They relate to their audience and want to take them along for a fun, enjoyable ride. Some say there are no rules in rock, but AM Low has one rule: Bringing it to the stage. You won't be disappointed.

Where are you now?
I'm still in this place
I only see your face
In the picture on my wall

These days roll by
I get older Things change
But you still stay the same
In the picture on my wall

You stayed beside me in good times and bad
(Always near me)
I want to call out to you but can't
You can't hear me

My best friend My best friend
My best friend My best friend

Years since we have spoken
Communication lines broken
One memento, a token of you
Stays beside me like you used to

I tell my friends how important you are
They can't begin to understand
In my sky you're the brightest star

My best friend My best friend
My best friend My best friend

Where is he now? Will we meet again?
I wasn't there to say goodbye
To my exiting best friend

My best friend My best friend
My best friend My best friend

Able Archer

Written By: AM Low

If I never see the other side
At least I am content I'm alive
Cuz the other side has nothing
for me
Believe

We are at the edge and dangling feet
Looking down over 10,000 feet
And the planet looks so empty
From here
Believe

At the edge of losing
Dizzy and confusing
We could've lost it all
The archer and his bow
Sees the target through the snow
And almost lets go

Believe!
Believe!
We almost disappear
Believe!
Believe!
We almost disappear

As I turn my face toward the sun
I turn to face a world undone
And there's no turning back from here
Believe

My feet begin to leave the ground
There is no light There is no sound
And the bitter taste in my mouth
Has cleared
Believe

Now its not confusing
The winning and the losing
We just lost it all
Through the falling snow
The archer and his bow
Raised his arm and let go

Believe!
Believe!
We almost disappear
Believe!
Believe!
We almost disappear

Tiny Switches

Written By: AM Low

In my mind are Tiny Switches
You turn some off You turn some on
Now what I do depends on you
Protect me from myself

Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!

In my mind are tiny glitches
They can go off like little bombs
Now what you do just lights my fuse
Protect me from myself

Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!

Every single calculation tries to answer every question
But in all my computations I couldn't answer why
Why its always either or
Why it can't be something more
Why we always look outside when everything's inside

Inside everyone (x8)

In my mind are tiny levers
You are my arms You are my legs
Now where I go depends on you
Protect me from myself

Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!
Flip the switch... On!
