Bio

New York City is world-renowned as a place where the latest and greatest musical styles and acts emerge. From the golden age of jazz in the 40’s on 52nd Street, folk in the Village during the 60’s and punk in the late 70’s, to anything and everything in between today, it’s no wonder that one of the most up-and-coming acts on the music scene –AM Low - got its start here.

Classifying AM Low’s sound into one particular genre would be a difficult task. The four members call on their different musical backgrounds to create songs in which elements of pop, jazz, funk, and classic rock can be heard. Frontman Peter Jan said of the band, “People ask what other bands do we sound like, and it’s hard to give them a straight answer – we sound like AM Low. We write together and each of us adds an essential bit to what we are.” Their sound may be hard to classify, but is highly accessible to any music fan, making them a much sought-after group.

Choosing to become a band was not a difficult decision for these four men. All were musicians from a young age, and their desire to create brought them together into this new form. Their task was to write music that anyone could enjoy. The songs are simple stories that one can understand and reflect on. Whether the subject is sad or happy, it is meant to be a celebration of our time.

AM Low has that sound that people want to hear. They relate to their audience and want to take them along for a fun, enjoyable ride. Some say there are no rules in rock, but AM Low has one rule: Bringing it to the stage. You won't be disappointed.
