Mere af det gode danske, som kommer til at cirkulere i hjernen i et stykke tid, når du først har hørt lininen "Buy Me A Love Song / Buy Me A Love Song", som kommer igen og igen i sangen 'Devils Work' med Københavner-bandet Among Relatives.
Simple guitarfigurer danser henover et stramt og tungt groove, som senere udvikler sig til et hårdtslående og håndfast rocknummer, stadig med samme melodi-linie der går igennem hele nummeret.
Det er ikke rocket-science på nogen måde. Her er ingen nye idéer eller banebrydende sangskrivning - tilgengæld virker det konsekvent og man har på fornemmelsen at hele bandet er nærværende i sangen, inspilningen og skriveprocessen.
"Buy Me A Love Song / Buy Me A Love Song" - linien, har en så delikat og karakteristisk klang, at det lyder som en klassiker i samme øjeblik du hører den første gang. Om bandet har så meget mere, ved jeg ikke endnu - der er kun 2 tracks på myspace - og det er 'Devils Work' der tager alle keglerne dér. - Carsten Holm

Though the band name indicates it the members of Among Relatives are not related, but close friends. Their main goal is to do what they love, creating a unique atmosphere through melodic music and straightforward lyrics.
In the beginning of 2008 they played together for the first time. 12 months later they isolated themselves in a studio in the northern part of Sweden. In January 2010 they will publish the outcome - their debut album “This Room”.
Among Relatives play 70s inspired indie rock with an explosive stage-performance. The focus is on the melodies and the songwriting accompanied by a well-played and hard-swinging expression and soundscape.
Lead singer Jimmy Andersen’s unique and distinctive vocal adds to the overall honest expression. In its fragile and desperate sound Jimmy Andersens vocal is characteristic and a fundamental part of the image and sound of the band.
Not least as a live band Among Relatives has in a short period of time managed to establish themselves as one of tomorrows most promising indie bands. They have played a series of well-attended concerts all over Denmark.
During 2009 Among relatives has featured everything from a well-attended concert at this years Start Festival, an intimate concert on a train, to playing live at the central station of Copenhagen. Additionally, Among Relatives was nominated for Best Alternative Act for Underground Music Awards 2009 in Copenhagen.
Among Relatives was signed by the Greenland record label, Atlantic Studios on their first record. Pad & Pen Records is responsible for management and promotion in Denmark.
Currently the band is working on a new tracks and aiming at a release for early 2012.
