Jonathan Amonte “Drummer” Henry
Amonte “Drummer” Henry, the widely acclaimed
drummer from Los Angeles, CA, graduated from El
Camino Community College with a Bachelor’s degree
in Music Management Business & Distribution.
Amonte learned at the age of 2 how to play from
watching and listening to his father. Amonte’s
fundamental experiences with drumming were
organic; he is the son of the legendary Gary Henry
whom played for national recording artist such as
Spyro Gyra, Tower of Power, Gap Band, Search Light,
and many more. Amonte “Drummer” Henry branched
out over the past 8 years and gained knowledge and
skills through his experiences playing with KC Wilson
(Charlie Wilson’s nephew), and other local artist.
Amonte’s music ministry extends beyond the industry and it is evident within the church as well. He has
played for Perpetual Life (2009-2013), Grace New Covenant (2014-2015), and Rock City Church (2015-
present). Amonte currently serves as a Talent Scouter and Beat Production for E.M.P. Topp Dogg
Records. Amonte is working with local aspiring artist on their projects that are trending within the area.
Pushing the limits within the industry to gain the attention of those whom can launch his career to the
next level is his goal. Ultimately, Amonte has a vision to open a school of music for those whom are
often overlooked and less fortunate. Amonte “Drummer” Henry is a valuable asset to the current
market and his ability to leverage his knowledge, resources, and skills into producing the next major
artist.
