Bio

In as so much that there exists no incentive for me to approach the band I would play with, I will continue with my guitar and me. And until then, this little venture is called Ampersand Drive.

There is a great desire within me to either do this right, or not do it all. Little by little, a seeming naivety is disappearing, as I find out day by day that a music career or even a single musical presentation, such as a song, is a great deal of work and commitment. In many regards, I refuse to even approach others to come along for the ride, until I am sure that there even exists a ride. So I remain largely noncommittal for their sakes. In that, each prospective member is a student of music, trained at the top universities in music, and so on. They know music, and each is well on their way to forming their own individual musical careers. They have years of experience in performance, composition, recording, and producing. Their understanding of music and its presentation is not limited to genre or scope. They are drastically different than me in that regard. But what we do share in common, is that of place. And that place was the same place, even though we were sperated by hundreds of miles: listening to Nirvana as kids, discovering the Who, Led Zepplin, and Dylan in our later years. That place is the same place now: it is of country and orientation to the world and the environment.

We are a generation of Rock, and it is through our appreciation of and immersion in that art form, that we have developed a belief and faith in the redeeming and empowering quality of music. We are certainly not arrogant or mislead enough to believe that our music can change the world. We just have some songs for the soundtrack of Revolution.
