Bio
In 2013, days after her debut studio release “Call Me the Wind,” Amy Carson Hunter, folk-pop musician from Toronto packed her bags and headed west. Though she now calls Calgary “home,” Hunter’s Ontario roots run deep, and she often returns on tours. On these tours Amy has enjoyed playing some of Ontario’s most prestigious festivals, such as Summerfolk (Owen Sound), the Beaches Jazz Fest (Toronto), NXNE (Toronto), and Canadian Music Week (Toronto).
Though Amy has the same long blonde locks of many of the folk powerhouses that have come before her, her sound and way with songs are unique to her own performance. Hunter has mastered the ability to effortlessly weave jazz tones through her poetry-driven compositions, resulting in a buttery soft, yet soulful sound. In collaborating with Grammy award-winning producer Dalton “D10” Tennant (Drake) on “Call me the Wind,” Hunter’s songs found their inner playfulness, exposing the pop in her song writing while still showcasing her delicate side.
Hunter is currently writing in preparation for a
new release, which she hopes to finish in early 2016.
