Bio
As a kid, Amy Kate spent hours watching the old MGM musicals, and consequently, developed a great appreciation for the standards and the artists who sang them. The power and emotion portrayed in those songs set a standard in which she is continually trying to achieve. Amy Kate grew up singing in church, and in more recent years for weddings and special events. She also devotes a lot of her time to performing in community theater, having performed in Annie, The Secret Garden, Seussical, and is currently in rehearsals for Mame. Amy Kate has a great love of American standards and believes they are the greatest gift America ever gave to the arts. Such legendary performers, phenomenal entertainers, and all around "cool" people none will ever be able to emulate again. Amy Kate sings those songs so they'll be remembered.
