Feeling a bit camera shy

Singer/songwriter/recording artist, Amy Leeds is a powerful and versatile singer whose performances and songs are magnetic, captivating, and energetic. Armed with an immense background of vocal and musical training, Amy combines elements of pop and rock music while surprising everyone with a hint of soul and a little bit of attitude.

A Nebraska native, Amy was active in music at an early age singing, playing the piano, and dancing all throughout school, in churches, and throughout the community. “I knew right away that I wanted to sing and perform for the rest of my life!” says Amy. Singing and performing she has done. Receiving a BA in Vocal Music Education from Nebraska Wesleyan, Amy moved on to Boston, MA where she was trained and coached students at Bristol Recording Studios. Along with teaching, Amy was also busy performing around the New England and East Coast with “South Station” and now “The Show”. A radiant bundle of energy while on stage, Amy has performed with The Alabama Blues Brothers, The Drifters, and a variety of artists from The Mirage “Legends” act in Las Vegas.

While in Boston, Amy was excited to develop her recording career. Collaborating with several producers in the Boston area who have worked with Van Halen, Aerosmith, Godsmack, and Chris Emerson, the end result was a fantastic blend of catchy beats and soaring vocals leaving everyone wanting more. Recording is Amy’s second love, “You have the freedom to create and express and really put your heart and soul into the finished product. Like performing you can really lose yourself to the music and give it your all!”

Having now moved to the New York City area, Amy’s momentum has not stopped. She was a backup singer with the original rock/funk band Blue Number Nine turning heads in the Big Apple and New Jersey area. Currently, Amy is ecstatic to be performing her own original material in New York City. Since moving to New York in September 2003, she has already performed at Il Campanello, CBGB’s Gallery, The Bitter End, and Sugar. Having been called a “ . . . breathe of fresh air!” this classically trained vocalist and musician with a gifted vocal range and talent for composition is quickly proving that she is the new popular voice for young females and the music scene of today!
