AMY MILES

Amy Miles has been involved heavily in television as both a musician and actor. She has written and produced a series of songs for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’s sketch comedy series “Seventh Floor West”. She has also created and produced the hit musical theater show “Sound Tracks Live,” which ran many sold out shows at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, NYC before being developed as a television pilot for VH-1. The Pilot starred Tina Fey, Will Arnett, Michael Ian Black and Paul Rudd. Amy led the house band which featured Fred Armisen on drums, and wrote the theme to the show. This lead her to write themes for other television shows including Nickelodeon’s “Mighty B,” Mr. T’s reality show “I Pity The Fool,” and Amy Poelher’s web based series “Smart Girls at the Party,” in which Miles is also regular cast member performing original music in each episode.

But the biggest television outlet to date for Amy Miles unique brand of sassy personality and musical talent is playing the role of “Amy” in the PBS children’s series “Lomax the Hound Of Music,” where she brings all of her skills together acting, singing and playing with puppets. “Lomax the Hound of Music” airs on PBS.

As a solo musician Amy Miles has recorded three records “Dirty Stay Out,” featuring the single “Kill To Know” with a video directed by The State’s David Wain, and an appearance by Saturday Night Live’s Amy Poehler. The roller skating themed video was a Youtube sensation. Amy’s second record “Nobel Hatch,” garnered critical acclaim including The Washington Post’s praise of her song writings as both “Cutting and Smart,” and providing her with a featured appearance performing on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Amy has toured with They Might Be Giants and opened for Robyn Hitchcock. Her third record “King of Girls” was produced by Craig Wedren of Shudder To Think, and is expected to be released later this year.

In addition to her solo music, Amy Miles is also a member of the Disco-Punk band “Baby,” she is a performer with New York institution “The Losers Lounge,” and the high concept musical collective “Citizens Band,” which also includes Rain Phoenix, The Cardigans’ Nina Persson, super model Karen Elson, and Guiding Light’s Ian Buchanan.
