"Amy Stouffer's Debut EP Delivers"

When you add wine as an influence on your music, not once, but twice, it's hard not to expect something smooth, relaxing, and even a tad complex. Luckily, Amy Stouffer delivers with quaint pop-songs, that contain gorgeous arrangements, coupled with dry witty lyrics, that echo Tori Amos. On, "Burning So Blue" she croons in a high lilting cadence blanketed by strumming guitars, and piano twinkles that "I like that you don't know who Miley Cyrus is" a perfect example of her humor, and quirkiness that makes her so endearing. It's not just her humor though, on "Ex Oh Ex Oh" she lets her guard down and wonders if her significant other, who she is enamored with, feels the same. It's in these moments of dull ache, and heavenly melodies, that she holds her own with likes of Sarah Mclachlan, and Norah Jones.

"Amy Stouffer's Sweet Debut"

Augmenting classical training with a broad range of pop and classic rock, this EP, finds Amy Stouffer decorating her piano playing with sweet orchestration, uplifting guitar and violin, and fierce percussion. Songs like "Burning So Blue" harken back to carefree days of young love, while "Wrong or Right" make you want break out your cowboy boots and dance. But it's Stouffer's ability to connect with her songs - on an uncommonly deep and meaningful level - that makes her tracks, especially "Unlike You" and "Ex Oh Ex Oh", truly stand out . She's one those artists whose songs linger in your head, your heart, and soul long after the record has stopped spinning."

Bio

AMY STOUFFER (voice, piano, songwriter) wrote her first song about her favorite bike at age 7. "Sweet Huffy #2" didn't exactly burn up the pop charts, but it was the start of a musical journey that has brought her to where she is today. Honing her vocal skills in multiple musical theater productions throughout highschool and through Penn State's Theater department, Amy tapped into the power of storytelling through song. The ability to create change and to simply move someone in the audience emotionally was something she took with her into her future songwriting.
But it wasn't until moving from Pittsburgh to LA and befriending a certain guitar playing troubadour (Vijal Patel) that she rediscovered her love of piano and got the courage to sing her own written songs in front of strangers and friends. Her first band, "Sweetloop" was formed: a beautiful trio of guitar, keys and cello, and soon after, an independent producer, Marvin Glover, got them into a studio to record an album of the same name. Soon after that, Amy met and become great friends with Americana singer/songwriter, Jerry Hannan, (who wrote "Society" with Eddie Vedder for the film INTO THE WILD), who took her under his musical wing and pushed her to put out her first solo EP of her own songs. Knowing 100% that songwriting was her deemed path, she rustled up her amazing musician friends and got them all in the studio. The EP has Jerry Hannan on guitar, Eric Gould (from the famed jamband "Particle") on bass, Stevie Black (played with Dixie Chicks, Pink and Adele's new album) on violin, mandolin and viola, along with her amazing Sweetloop bandmates, Vijal Patel and Craig Truesdell. The addition of her now drummer, Aaron Dubois, was the percussive icing on the cake. This labor of love has been amazingly recieved, with a sold out EP Release show at Molly Malone's in November and has also led to Amy landing a fantastic Manager in Rebecca Edelson and a Publishing deal at Left Lane Publishing. Amy's motto is "Onward and upward!" from this point and cannot wait to make more music with her amazing and ecclectic band.

Aaron Dubois (drums) is a meat popsicle, capable of not much else besides frantically flailing his limbs about, occasionally in time. In his spare time he collects expired packages of spam, and odd shaped vegetables. He has 2 dogs, 1 truck, and more ride cymbals than any man ever should. Beware his dashing good looks..... They bite.
Aaron's main musical inspirations are Phish, James Brown, Miles Davis, MMW, Talking Heads, TheBeatles and Raffi.

Dan Riley (bass), can be found playing anything from Bach to Bird to Biggie. As you might infer, he is proficient on both the upright and electric bass. His ‘babies’ include a vintage Kay Swingmaster double bass, 5-string Ken Smith electric bass and a classic 4-string Fender Jazzbass.

Dan has recorded and/or performed with famed artists like: rapper Slick Rick, Hanson, Disney's Aly & AJ, Good Year Charlie, Akil Dasan, Jamey Haddad (Paul Simon's drummer), jazz greats Robert Glasper, Cecil Bridgewater and many more...
Additionally, Dan has many honors and achievements under his belt; besides attending the prestigious Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, Dan was the recipient of the National Orchestra Award in 2000. He has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and has played as the Principle Bass of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra. Dan received a scholarship to the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University where he studied classical bass. He transferred from there to the New School University’s Jazz and Contemporary Music program in New York City, where he earned a degree in Jazz Music Performance and Journalism.

Vijal Patel (guitar) learned to play guitar because he couldn't play drums in his college dorm without angering my neighbors...When Vijal is not writing beautiful love songs to his new wife, Malena, his humorous talent can be enjoyed by watching ABC's "The Middle", where he is a head writer/producer.
