DJ ANA CAPELLA

I just moved to Toronto under a year ago, and I’m eager to focus on my music and Djing; can’t wait to get started on the Toronto electronic music scene.

I decided to begin my career as a DJ at the AUDIOCONCERT ACADEMY. Shortly after, I entered the ELECTRONIC music scene. I took the challenge and with time I started to master my technique. Style wise my music sits between house progressive, electro house and tech house.
My music collection is based on productions of artists such us Trentemoller, Patrick The Funk, Kevin Fisher, Mark knight, Simon Baker, Mathias Kaden, Andy Coldwell, Milton Channels, Bart B Dwells, Shakedown, Chocolate Puma, ATFC, Mario Ochoa, Daniel Portman, Passenger 10, Robbie Rivera, Roger Sanchez, Steve Angello, Bob Sinclair, David Guetta, Pryda and many others all of which are my favourites.
I developed my experience in the city of Medellin; there I participated in a DJ television reality show produced by the Cosmovision channel where I won first place. Being on the show gave me the opportunity to play in different prestigious venues in Colombia such as PHARMACY, KASA HOUSE, TROPICAL COCTAILS, CARNIVAL, THE X RADIO STATION AND UNIVERSAL.
Soon after the reality show, I participated in another competition called THE NATURAL BEATS OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC. I was the only female contestant and I obtained third place overall. In addition I was the first and only WOMAN invited to participate in the GAY PARADE CARNIVAL OF COLOMBIA.
How I play:
I always just catch up on the vibe of the club and the crowd. That’s why I like to be in the club at least an hour before my set starts. This way I can decide spontaneously how I am going to start and in which direction I want to take it. Picking up the response from the crowd and feeling the music is the best way to fit my music accordingly. LOVE to please my crowd with my mash up styles, I can spin anything from R&B to Top 40 to House/Dance…I love to make the crowd happy and LOVE to SPIN!!!
