Feeling a bit camera shy

AnAkA (pronounced Anna-Kuh) is a Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal band from Brooklyn, New York, USA, whose musical influences are Alice In Chains, Black Label Society, Corrosion Of Conformity, Soil, Slipknot, Down, Megadeth, Godsmack, Metallica and Black Sabbath. AnAkA was originally formed in 2000 but has quickly established a fan base in the NY underground heavy metal and hard rock scene as well as the rest of the USA. AnAkA has performed and has also headlined historic and world famous NYC and NJ venues such as CBGB's, The Continental, L'Amour, Count Basie Theatre (holds 1,400 people), Castle Heights, etc. AnAkA can be described as a powerful live band, which can move their audience sonically, physically, and even psychologically. AnAkA, "Down Devil's Road," released Fall 2001, was the bands first studio album, and it contains 7 heavy and heart felt tracks. AnAkA's music is rage, heartbreak, self-realization, love, honor and wisdom ... powerful music for the outlaw-thinker that is found in all of us. AnAkA's music off of "Down Devil's Road," is played and requested on national radio stations all across United States. Along with making a well respected name for themselves in the US hard rock/ heavy metal scene, AnAkA is ranked the number 1 most requested band and number 1 album on the European radio station CRETE FM, in turn AnAkA has started building a strong fan base in Europe. AnAkA is also being played on hard rock/ heavy metal radio stations in Argentina and Brazil. AnAkA’s music has also been requested in Asian countries such as Pakistan and Japan. Word of AnAkA's earth shaking music and their relentlessly powerful live performances has swiftly spread all across the globe. AnAkA and their music can be found on thousands of music websites and radio stations from all over the world. AnAkA’s new 2004 release, AnAkA, "Rust & Jade," which is the bands second studio album, was Produced and Engineered by Jerry Farley, an individual who worked with major national acts such as Ill Niño, Breaking Benjamin, and Candiria on their 2004 releases. "Rust & Jade" was Mastered by Dan Korneff, another very talented Producer/ Engineer that helped Produce Ill Niño, "Confession" and also Engineered and Mixed that album. The members of AnAkA strongly believe that "Rust & Jade" will show the rest of the music world what AnAkA is truly all about. AnAkA has also signed with a New York City based hard rock/ heavy metal record label called Godsend Records and have recently picked up an edorsement deal with Cupertino, California based custom guitar company Halo Guitars. As of early January 2005, months after AnAkA finished recording their second studio album, AnAkA, "Rust & Jade," the members of AnAkA decided to add Kirill Gluharev to their line-up as their second guitar player. "After recording two albums, AnAkA, "Down Devil's Road" (2001) and AnAkA, "Rust & Jade" (2004) as a four piece, we felt the next step we wanted to take was to bring even more music to our audience. By adding Kirill to the line up we were able to get the live sound that we had been seeking..." said Jimmy Pallis, lead singer for AnAkA. AnAkA has taken another step forward ... "It's all about the music, it's all about our art, it's all about being real...." -- AnAkA.
