Combining the sultry sounds of Sade with the intoxicating sounds of Latin artists like Gloria Estefan and newly renowned artist David Bisbal, singer-songwriter Aña Monique is a part of the new generation of Latin artists mixing and embracing Latin sounds with the classic sounds of Anglo music.
Beginning her musical study at the age of 8, Aña became immersed in classical music by learning the violin and the guitar from her father, also a guitarist and vocalist. This training has been the most important as it aided the building of a strong base in music and music theory. It was not until a few years later that Aña started developing her voice, realizing it was singing that was her true passion.
Aña has lent her voice and creativity to other artists for a variety of events, performances and recordings which resulted in building a grass-roots fan base. Having performed in both intimate settings and larger venues, Aña is a true performer which was evident when she was the opening act for legendary blues artist, B.B King.
Currently produced by Grammy nominee Carlos Villalobos, Aña’s sound has been taken even further making her an artist to be recognized. Mixing the vast experiences of her travels and from her life thus far, Carlos Villalobos has captured her essence and raw vocal ability making Aña Monique a voice for all ages worldwide.
