In the world of adult alternative singer-songwriters Donna Andreeff and Winnie Bergner have rooted their musical style in a blend of folk, rock, and blues exhibited in the best works of such artists as Melissa Etheridge, Fleetwood Mac, and Heart. Along with drummer Joe Santee, Anatara ventures into the mainstream producing a raw, passionate and fun contribution to today’s music with their latest CD release, “Days Gone By”. Like the artists they’ve been compared to, the essence of Anatara is in the scope of their emotional range. From one vocal over a piano to toe-tapping feel-good music, Anatara’s audiences respond.

The array of their performances and audiences started right out of the gate with their 1996 self-titled debut release, one of which the most humbling they’ll tell you was singing Christmas carols in the East Room of the White House. But that’s a story for another time. Musician Magazine listed Anatara as one of the best unsigned bands in the nation (July 1997).They went from their hometown clubs in Buffalo, NY to the main stage at Woodstock’s 30th Anniversary Concert, A Day in the Garden (1999). Locally, Anatara opened for Pat Benatar, Sass Jordan, Heart, and Rick Springfield. During this time the girls won the Top Duo/Trio Award for four consecutive years at the Buffalo Music Awards. After the accomplishments following their debut release, their fellow musicians honored their achievements inducting Anatara into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.

With their next release “On My Way”, and the addition of drummer Joe Santee, Anatara continued capturing the attention of industry pros. Robby Takac (Goo Goo Dolls) selected Anatara as his personal band backing him up on stage for his tribute to Ozzy Osborne at his annual Music is Art Festival. UB’s Center for the Performing Arts featured Anatara performing this release for their “Live at the Center” campus television special. The title track would not only be made into a video but along with “I’m Gone” would be featured on 101.1 The Lake. Another track, “Every Time”, appears on B.O.Y.D., an independent film by Matthew Lorentz (2012). Anatara headlined VIP Day of Show Concert Parties at the Darien Lake Performing Art Center for Heart, Def Leppard, Kiss, and Sugarland and opened for Grandfunk Railroad, Honeymoon Suite and 5440 locally. Anatara also performed at NYC’s most historic rock club, The Bitter End. Their “On My Way” video, recorded during a live concert performance and while roaming the streets of Buffalo and NYC, continues to appear on “Let’s Go Buffalo”, a television series highlighting the best of what the city offers.
