Anatole Doak

After playing guitar and writing songs in his bedroom since he was 16, Anatole started his music career in 2010 at Georgetown University. He formed the trio "Grasping at Straws" with Emile Doak on Bass and Matt Galizia on Drums. After playing around campus together for a semester, the band went on haitus while Matt and Anatole went to study abroad. When the band came back together in 2011, they added Joe Albanese on guitar until the band disbanded in the summer of 2012.

During the spring of 2012 Anatole and Matt formed a side project with Chris Harold and Charlie Burgoyne, which included a performance at the 9:30 Club as a part of a battle of the bands competition, and recording an EP at Bias Studios in Springfield VA. Anatole continues to play out both on his own and his band throughout the Washington DC area.
