“ANAUT is the result of the last 23 years of my life”. Alberto Anaut.
Alberto Anaut was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1982. At the age of 8, he enrolled in the guitar and music theory lessons in his neighborhood ́s music school.

After falling in love with the instrument, he joined dozens of bands in his native city. From punk to reggae: rock and roll, blues, funk and, ultimately: soul music. There was never a singer: apparently, Madrid didn ́t have many of those at that time, so he started filling those shoes too.

After traveling and studying jazz guitar in Pamplona (Navarra, Spain) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands), it became clear it was time to create a personal voice in music. All that experience playing in diverse trios, quartets and even gospel choirs turned into the perfect tool to communicate with his fellow musicians, found in Spain and The Netherlands during their rehearsals, auditions and two tours in Spain.

And then, the record. “When you have the songs, the idea of a sound and -the most important thing- the band, but you are missing the money, you still have a chance”. Crowdfunding not only became the way to make it happen, but also a great promotional tool.

In 40 days, ANAUT with the help of the spanish plattform VerKami (www.verkami.com) raised more than the 4.000 € neccesary to record, mix and master the record. In total, 5.535€, which allowed them to produce the copies and release them in a completely autonomous way. The title 140 refer to the number of patrons who made it happen, together with the band.

One year after, ANAUT is touring all across Spain. The have been awarded with the “Girando por salas / Touring in Venues” fund, which helped them organize a 20 dates tour. This has been a great milestone in their career as a band, allowing them to get strangers to become fans in this “DIY little miracle”, as Alberto often refers to it.

Already thinking in a second album and a videoclip for it, ANAUT keeps growing every gig, every radio they visit and every new fan they make.

The next step is to play in Europe, release their second album and, who knows, make a living with their passion.ç
