Bio
Trixie Fender appears to be a 23 year old popstar when she takes the stage. Little does the crowd know she is actually Kimberly Weeks, a talented 28 year old singer who also happens to be a licensed social worker with degrees and certifications in the field she went into before actively pursuing a music career.
Trixie was a singer the moment she began singing. Being a preacher’s daughter during her childhood allowed her to experience the thrill of performing songs on stage at church. All throughout high school, she excelled as a track and cross-country runner and sang solos and sang with the worship team every Sunday and Wednesday at her church which is the same church where Christian artist Matthew West attended.
Trixie’s first recording session was with Joey Lemon at Greenville College in 2000-2001. She then continued to gain studio experience at Western Illinois in 2002-2003, then with songwriter Charlie Kam and producer/audio engineer Howard Ferguson in Chicago from 2004 to the present. Trixie also worked with Charlie Rosario in Downer’s Grove, IL in 2004-2005 and then Jimmy Fernandez in Algonquin, IL from 2005-2008, gaining more and more recording experience. In Spring of 2008, Trixie signed with a production company in Chicago called Studio 5090 and worked with Ramsey Lewis’s son Frayne Lewis until Fall of 2009 when Trixie left the company to be managed by Charlie Kam and went to JIRA Productions to work with songwriter and producer Ira Antelis.
