Bio

ANC is a band dedicated to pushing themselves to the next level of music and will stop at nothing to bring their music to everyone. They have been together as a group since high-school began for them in 1999 and their love of music and determination to succeed has lead them to where they are now, hoping to break on to the scene.

When A.N.C. first started playing together all the members of the band had very agreeable tastes in music, centered mainly around ska and punk groups such as Sublime, Reel Big Fish, Green Day and others. As A.N.C. matured, their interest in these bands, (specifically Sublime and their predecessor Long Beach Dub Allstars) lead to their discovery and subsequent love of reggae music. Sublime had obviously had a heavy influence from reggae and this had been passed on to A.N.C.. Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Wailing Souls, Israel Vibration, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Yellowman, and numerous other artists heavily influence A.N.C.'s sound. Their love of roots-reggae and dub is apparent in their music, and especially their live show. More recently, in A.N.C.'s frustration with popular music, they have seeked more eclectic and underground music to listen to. This more experimental hip-hop and electronic music has had a great impact on A.N.C. and much of their new material is audibly influenced by these smaller acts.

A.N.C. is different than most bands because of their ability to blend so many different influences in to a working brand of music all their own. Although you might hear traces of bands in their music, there is no mistaking A.N.C.'s music as anyone but theirs. Their music is perfect to chill out to, or to get up and skank to. They can entertain with sets of dub reggae and slow chilled out tunes or can pick it up and play a raucous set of quick ska and punk songs. A.N.C. is versatile and a blast to see live.
