"Concert Attendee Comments"

Ancient Sounds features not simply a melodious blending of earth instruments, but powerful emanations of healing energies flowing directly from the performers, bringing the entire audience into a nourishing, healing embrace." -- John Thompson, Illumination Arts, Bellevue, WA -

"Please tell (Ancient Sounds) how much we enjoyed your guys' show last night! Really good! (the grandkids) loved it too! They were both in a trance … very peaceful! I found the music especially meditative. It gave an powerful contrast to the chaos now going on in the world. I found it comforting. The vocalist was great. Beautiful voice. Reminded me of my CDs by the group ‘Delerium’. I also really liked the duo on the didgeree-doo. Really liked (the didgeridoo) whale sounds, and found it hard to believe what I was hearing! At first I thought it was the synthesizer on the electric piano! Also -- great drums! I've never heard an Ocean drum before. Great sound! Very interesting! Looking forward to your next performance. Would like to bring the grandkids to that too."-- Mike Milandin, Woodinville, WA -

"I liked all the combination of sounds. The flute was haunting. I could picture long, sultry nights!!" --Anonymous – Redmond, WA --

"Sue Peterson"

"The music of ‘Ancient Sounds’ creates an esoteric, tribal sound from magnificent hand-crafted, native instruments, that I would describe as "aboriginal dreamy". You don’t want to miss an introduction to some "one of a kind" Native American flutes and Aboriginal Tribal Didgeridoos played by co-founder Gary Leatham. His extensive collection includes flutes from Ancient New Zealand Kauri wood dating to the Neanderthal age (>50,000 yrs ago!) and flute totems resting above ancient, rare or exotic woods, made from even Siberian Woolly Mammoth ivory tusk (20,000 yr old) and Ancient Caribbean Manatee rib bone (Stellar Sea Cow fossil over 10,000 yr old; from a ~20,000 lb animal). His didgeridoos include some of the very best, authentic termite-chewed instruments, released from Australia in recent memory. He enthusiastically teaches others to play, and actually let me hold such instruments and try to play them! In performances, watch as each musician with "Ancient Sounds" finds their passionate expression of heart and soul through the medium of melodic ancestral melodies." -- Sue Peterson, Bellevue, WA - Notes: (* ) hunted to extinction by cave men ( **) hunted to extinction in 1768 by modern man. "Jayne Hayes"

"The concert at (the) church was absolutely incredible. I felt so blessed to be there. Like witnessing an important event, and turning point. The didj blessing was powerful and very emotionally moving. I am partial to didj sound anyway, always has an effect, but with all of you playing, woah! To see you all creating together was wonderful … thank you for providing that experience." --Jayne Hayes, Kirkland, WA -

"Your music is a blessing. I believe it is Spirit directed. It is touching many hearts. It has touched my heart in a profound way. I love how your passion for music comes across as a clear, humble and healing experience." – Vicki Sigrist, Bellevue, WA --

"Friends"

"Wow! is the first descriptive term that comes to mind. I don't think I can give justice in mere words. Your music has a very deep impact ... it is very joyful, soulful, penetrating, sincere. It lifts us up, takes us deep, and creates a feeling of bonding together through Spirit. Thanks so much for sharing your gifts!" -- Janet Worthen, Psychotherapist, Seattle, WA –

"Wow, how to describe it! Normally I get goosebumps on very rare occasions when the music hits me just right. This was the first time that I have experienced goose bumps start to finish. I was totally moved and drawn in by the performance. It was a very powerful and spiritual experience! Thank you so much for sharing your talents! -- Michelle Hunt, Woodinville, WA --

"It was the most goose bumps I ever felt in one concert!" "--Anonymous – Kirkland, WA -

"It was more than a concert. It was a soulful experience. The ancient rhythms were vibrating in my spiritual bones. I felt connected to people long ago." --Anonymous -

"More Impressions"

I attended your recent concert at Unity Church in Lynnwood and enjoyed it very much! I also purchased your CD, Resonance, which I absolutely LOVE! I listen to it almost every day. Do you have any other CDs at this time? If not, are you planning to record another one soon? I need it bad. Can't wait. Sincerely, Cheryl Goodwin In Service

I’ve REALLY been enjoying your CD!! It is just lovely, soothing, interesting and all around really nice. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Victoria DeVine, RN, BSN www.aplaceformom.com

"I was telling a colleague about Ancient Sounds and how you are a metaphor for what the world is calling forth, a new collaboration of ancient traditions that have hitherto been separate, and resulting in wonderful new synergy." -- Rich Henry, Co-Director, Unity of Woodinville, WA –

"Ancient Sound's music ... affected me more profoundly than any other music I have ever heard. Not only was I in an altered state for the entire concert, but even now, 36 hours later, the music from the trio of Didgeridoos continues to resonant within me, allowing me to walk simultaneously in the worlds of Spirit & Matter."-- Suzanna McCarthy, MSW, LICSW, Therapist & Spiritual Director, Seattle, WA –

Bio

Seattle group: ‘Ancient Sounds’ is a World Ethnic music group ... with a wide range of music cultures reflected, such as Native American Indian / Middle Eastern / East Indian / African themes / Celtic / Russian Folk ... and others. We specifically design our music program for the desired program impact. We occasionally host Special Guests to broaden our range of music or add dance or other art elements. Due to our busy plan schedule, we also have alternate musicians in some critical spots.

Ancient Sounds creates inspiring, heart-felt music, typically with ethnic world and meditative new age themes. Native American & world flutes, didgeridoos, other ancient woodwinds, and ethnic percussion are combined with vocals, piano, synth, guitar, animals calls and other creative instruments to create the effects we wish.

Our music is created for rejuvenation n’ enjoyment … and behind it is a focused intention … to support our inner knowing, the unfoldment of innate creative talents, and to help discover and engage.
