Bio

A decade or so ago, Andalusion was a four-piece grunge-metal band that played a style of rock that found followers in the metal, punk, and alternative scenes. As part of a vibrant music community that was centralized in Woodstock NY, Andalusion thrived in the bars and clubs of upstate (and often downstate) NY. The band’s momentum carried them on an upward trajectory that found representation with a big law firm in New York City, complete with a big name producer to record their debut album. The ride was great, but as the actual costs of rock stardom started to pile up, the stresses became unmanageable for the young band. They decided to stop everything. The lawyers were fired, the shows stopped being booked, and their breakthrough recording was left incomplete. The four members went their separate ways: two continued to record and tour with other bands, one found a home in the New York City art scene, and the other living an unpredictable bohemian lifestyle.

But then something happened. I’m 2018, Tim (vocals/guitar) and Wayne (drums) got together and started devising a plan to go out on tour for a quick trip out west. Without an actual band, they reached back into the old Andalusion catalog for songs. Tim and Wayne picked up a new drummer (Josh) so that Wayne could play a second stringed instrument and round out the sound. After a number of unbelievably successful rehearsals, they floated the idea of a reunion past the other two original members: Josh (guitar, keyboards) and Dave (bass). Both of them were totally on board with getting the band back together. Some kind of magic was clearly evident when the band started playing again, and now here we are: Andalusion is back in 2019... Recording and playing shows, but doing it on our their own terms. They may not be interested in taking over the world again, but they are ready to go back out and make a name for themselves (again)!
