"AndDrop! release Boogaloo EP"

"AndDrop! Are Riding The Drop Straight To The Top"

AndDrop! are riding the drop straight to the top. Joe Wiseman, Harris and Sylvain Kauffman crank out huge, super dance-y, electro laden tracks, that have garnered them quite a bit of attention of late. In January, they released their first EP, Boogaloo, which cruised straight to #1 on the Beatport Top 100 Releases and sat there for 10 days. Since then, the gig offers have been rolling in. AndDrop! has been slaying stages with big names like Griz, Sander Van Doorn, and Bassjackers, and building relationships with artists from Tittsworth and Alvin Risk in DC, to Diplo, Munchi, Krewella, and all the way to their homie Haezer in South Africa.

Though AndDrop! are new players in the EDM scene, they've been making music for quite a while. Kauffman has been playing piano since he was a small child and, by high school, all three dudes were making hip-hop.

"Nothing serious, but all the tools were so accessible," they say. "Because of this, it was hard to resist taking a stab at more dance oriented music."

In 2009, the dudes went for it, and started working with turntables and DJing EDM. Last year they segued into working with CDJs and, around the same time, they had their first success in the blogosphere with their track "Dumb."

"'Dumb' had a pretty catchy vibe," they say. "people always wanted us to play it live."

AndDrop were poised to break through, both as recording artists and as a live act, as they soon did with the release of Boogaloo. Since the Boogaloo EP, they've continued to receive exposure, and not only from touring. Their tune "Miles's Song," for example, was recently played on the trendsetting BBC Radio1.

AndDrop! are doing a great job of maintaining their upwards trajectory. They currently have "a bunch of big singles" on the way, they're aiming to drop their second EP by the end of the summer, and they have high aspirations for the future.

"We have more big tunes and new styles on the way," they say. "We hope to be playing a lot of shows as well... and a few things we want to keep under wraps at this point!"

To quote them out of context, "Mega-rave in space! Definitely." So you may have that to look forward to... - DJz

Bio

AndDrop! is the brainchild of DJ Joe Wiseman and producers/brothers Harris and Sylvain Kauffman. The crew recently relocated to LA after making a name for themselves in the SF/Bay Area with their fusion of hard-hitting electro, big builds, and melodic breakdowns. Deriving their name from that pivotal moment in every banger dance track, AndDrop!'s original mixes and sets revolve around just that – the “drop.”

After holding a residency in Cape Town, South Africa at the historic Assembly, AndDrop! returned to the Bay Area to finish up their degrees at UC Berkeley. In January, their debut EP 'Boogaloo' broke onto the Top 100 Beatport charts at #1 across all genres and stayed there for well over a week, remaining on the Electro House charts as late as May 5th. Chuckie then featured the lead single 'Miles's Song' on his BBC Radio 1 show dropping it during primetime in the UK. Their recent premiere on ThisSongIsSick.com has had over 80,000 plays. Less than 3 weeks ago they won the Insomniac Discovery Project for EDC Las Vegas and played their best set yet on Saturday night under the desert sky. Last week the boys finished up an official remix for The Cataracs that came out July 16th on World Town Records.

They have played as main support to the likes of Thomas Gold (Ruby Skye), Sander Van Doorn (Exchange L.A.), Mord Fustang (Washington D.C.), Bassjackers, GRiZ (Yost theater), Figure, Le Castle Vania, Excision, Adventure Club, Seven Lions, The M Machine, LA Riots, The Killibits, Daedelus, Project 46, Fiasko Daniels, and countless other big names.

AndDrop! has been supported by Diplo, Krewella, Alvin Risk, Munchi, Deorro, Adventure Club, Tittsworth and several others.
