Bio
Earthsongs was formed by Anders Hagberg from a will of expressing his roots in Nordic
music, using the melodies from joiks and herding calls as a platform for improvisations. Together with his experiences of Indian and Japanese music, Earthsongs has explored soundworlds where jazz, world and ambient meet.
Their CDs where both nominated for the Swedish grammy award for best worldmusic and in 2005 they recorded music to a film about Scandinavian history
The group has toured Europe and Canada and featured some of the best nordic vocalists. They have performed at several openings and their participation at the Stockholm Millenium Celebration, Nordic Voices in Copenhagen and opening of Urkult are worth noting.
Anders Hagberg has toured worldwide with groups such as Mynta and New Jungle Orchestra. He has played on a great number of records and composed music for film and dance performances. He teaches improvisation at the Academy of Music and Drama, Gothenburgh University.
Stefan Blomquist has worked as musician and producer with Monika Zetterlund, Janne Schaffer, Egba, Bobo Stenson to mention a few.
Ola Bothzén been touring worldwide with nu-jazz act Koop as well as Mynta and A bossa electrica.
