"Sue Marchant BBC Radio Interview with Jon Anderson"

Interview with Jon at 1:21:25 into program. - BBC Radio - 6/10/10

Discography

Songs that will be heard hitting the radio airwaves in the coming weeks include “Just One Man,” a song reflecting Anderson’s ever-present faith in higher spiritual power. "The Living Tree" (Part 1) relates to the necessity and power of trees and nature to sustain our lives, both physically and emotionally. In "Morning Star," he sings about the power of youth, and the legacy of the 60's: love, peace and enlightenment. The song "23/24/11" relates to the current war in Afghanistan, and how a soldier is counting down the hours and minutes before he can return home.

Bio

John Hessenthaler for OEP Live! presents “The Anderson/Wakeman Project 360” U.K. Tour from October 9, 2010 – November 15, 2010. YES legendary ambassadors of rock, frontman Jon Anderson and keyboardist Rick Wakeman, join forces for a one-off limited run tour. The full evening show features classic YES tracks and exclusive first performances of new jointly composed Anderson/Wakeman songs from the new album, “The Living Tree,” written especially for these dates—all intertwined with hilarious anecdotes.

Voiceprint is proud to present the release of “The Living Tree,” which will be available for purchase on the independent label’s website (www.voiceprint.co.uk), starting Monday, October 11, 2010, as well as digitally in online stores this fall, including Amazon, Gonzo, iTunes and Rhapsody. It will be released in the U.K. and the rest of Europe to retail on Monday, November 29, 2010. “The Living Tree” will be released in the United States on Tuesday, January 11, 2011.

Anderson says, “Listening to the songs on this album, I realize how connected I am with Rick. We have this natural singsong way of creating that seems to roll off the tongue. I am so thankful for our friendship and mutual love of music, and most of all—the fun we have working together, whether onstage or making this album of songs via the Internet. It’s as though we have excluded ‘time and space’ to make this music.”

Wakeman adds, “Light, love, belief and truth combine to create true friendships. Add music and you have a bonding of souls. That’s what has happened with ‘The Living Tree’ from the day the seed was planted.”

Anderson and Wakeman performed with YES together various times throughout the band’s history. They also collaborated on two albums as Anderson Bruford Wakeman & Howe. “The Living Tree” is their first album created together. All lyrics and melodies are written by Anderson with music by Wakeman, except the song “Just One Man,” which was written by Anderson and music is by Jeremy Cubert with music performed by Wakeman.

The album is produced by Anderson, Wakeman and Erik Jordan with engineering and mixing by Jordan. All songs are published by Write Notes Ltd. and Warner/Chappell. Album artwork is by Mark Wilkinson.
