The Bay Area is the independent capital of the free world. Oakland, in particular, is known for its political history and the Black Panther Movement. The city is continuously cultivating creative culture.
This year, there were creative accessories, clothing lines and music artists standing out amongst the crowd. 2010 was a great year for people with creative ideas and agendas, so I decided to make a list of my personal favorite fashionable artists, brands and events of this past year.
9. Dirty-pop trio Johnny Fresh is most definitely fresh. The group has rock star style - combining traditional suits with bold handkerchiefs or turning casual shades into superstar stunners. To further their fashion credibility, the trio - Jin, Andy Rox and Jordin Austin - lent their vocals to HeadBanger Accessories promo song "HeadBanger." Rox holds her own amongst the boys wearing pumps and tightly fitted clothes and was in the leading woman in fellow Bay native singer R.O.D.'s "I can't stand you" music video. The video was a great test for Rox's style showing that she could hold still remain stylish outside the group. - Oakland Local
My friends Johnny Fresh just released their new single "Soulsonic Therapy Part II" and it's a banger... been getting a lot of support from the club and radio community. It's very cool watching these 3 blowing up right now because they're some of the hardest-working, most down-to-earth people you'll meet. San Francisco, CA June 26, 2010 - Squad Music Group (SMG) recording artists SomaliA star of the web series "Building Somalia", and Johnny Fresh members Jin Chhabra & Jordan Austin will be volunteering at the 2010 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Walk in San Francisco.
Also, in addition to participating in this year's Avon Breast Cancer Walk, SomaliA - represented by Adore Management, and working on her untitled sophomore album with The Squad Music Group - will be also be performing at the Relay For Life June 26th in San Jose, California. All proceeds for this event will go to the American Cancer Society.
Approximately 178,480 women and 2,030 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. 40,460 women and 450 men in the U.S. will die from the disease annually. Tragically, every 13 minutes, a life is lost to breast cancer.
BUT THERE IS HOPE. Early detection saves lives. There are over 2 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. who have been treated for breast cancer. Yearly mammograms are recommended starting at age 40 and continuing for as long as a woman is in good health. A clinical breast exam (CBE) should be part of a periodic health exam, about every 3 years for women in their 20s and 30s and every year for women 40 and over.
Jordan Austin and Jin Chhabra together form the group Johnny Fresh, and are represented by Don't Be Shy Entertainment. Johnny Fresh is preparing a special T-shirt with all proceeds from sales being donated to The American Cancer Society. They will be releasing their debut single "Fallen 4 U" on Squad Music Group/Island Def Jam Digital Distribution July, 20, 2010.
Jordan Austin has expressed, "What is needed is public awareness and organized efforts to encourage early detection. Doing research and speaking with survivors has been inspirational."
Jin Chhabra added, "I didn't know men could have breast cancer. I want to be able to do more to help, and volunteering at the 2010 Avon Breast Walk is my first step towards achieving this goal." - Press Release

When she was a little girl, in San Francisco she once defeated Chuck Norris in an arm wrestling match while singing her ABC's.
In high school she slapped her music teacher for forcing the class to sing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and taught the class herself.
In church she convinced the choir to sing new standards such as Beyonce's "Naughty Girl" and Destiny's Child "Say My Name" . The newly re-christened GOBOTXX Choir defeated 9,000 choirs to become grand choir champions.

Who is this woman?
Her name is ANDI ROXX. Ass kicker, microphone lover, a rebel with the voice of an angel. Harder than Mike Tyson in his prime, the stunning beauty of a Playboy centerfold and curves fiercer than the body
lines of a Lamborghini.
After high school ANDI ROXX became a highly desired singer and performer, joining the now defunct group Johnny Fresh and was introduced to the Squad Music Family by winning the annual mud wrestling match between her former group members by making the former lead singer Jin Chhabra submit with a figure four leglock. Gaining some local notoriety with a single "Soulsonic Therapy Part II" this led to more opportunities and ANDI ROXX going solo.
ANDI ROXX has become a stand out artist in her own right. Her
music and look, has been labeled as DIRTY POP, and she has
embraced the title, the square peg of DIRTY POP. Because in her words "She doesn't fit into stupid circles." Some might think
the word DIRTY describes an attitude and some might describe
it as the pinch of Grime her music has. Well you will have to
decided for yourself by listening to ANDI ROXX’s music.
Songs like “Preying Mantis” is a perfect example of a smooth
lady killer, a killer of hearts, only because her heart has been
damaged as well. The lyrics are filled with so many warnings to
male species who refuse to heed her warning. She also has
songs like “I Don’t Want Your Man” which simply describes the
insecurity of women when she is around their men. ANDI ROXX is
the ultimate Goddess. She will set the spot on fire and will have you
coming back for more heat over and over again!
