Exposed to music while still in the womb of her mother, it's not wonder that Andrea Cherry has made music her passion and her number one love. Born to Pastor Luther Cherry and his wife Symera, Andrea Cherry grew up in a household filled with music and god. Her father, an accomplished pianist, and her mother a gospel singer of L&S Ministries, raised their kids on values, the Lord, and music.

Andrea’s first live performance came at the tender age of 6, when she wowed her father’s congregation with a stirring song as she led the youth gospel choir. It was then that Andrea realized the music and singing were her love. “Hearing and seeing my parents perform at weddings, funerals, and other functions has helped me understand how important music is to our lives” says Andrea as she reflects on some of her influences for her choosing to pursue a music career. “My family and I are creators, so it doesn’t surprise me that music is the career path I chose to take.”

Elementary school is where Andrea first discovered two other talents that she possessed. It was in elementary school where she discovered her flare for narrative writing and poetry. She also discovered her second passion for acting and theatrics. Without a second thought, Andrea jumped into the acting scene performing in various school plays and functions. Her ability to shine on the stage began honing her ability to perform as a musical artist. Andrea pursued her acting niche all the way to North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. where she majored in Art Applications Theatre. Although the theatre had become a major force in her life, Andrea never let anything become big enough to surpass her love for music. “All I need is my music. When I am with my music, nothing can phase me. It’s as if music transcends me from my troubles.”

With music in her soul and God in her heart, Andrea Cherry is poised to take over and industry for which she has been preparing for since the age of 6. Andrea recently was signed to C&G Records where she is working on her debut album “Soul Searching.” She is also preparing to hit the road with a college and university tour as well as an Open-mic tour throughout the state of North Carolina.
