I Wanna Be A Rockstar

I Wanna Be A Rockstar – Andrea Coffin ©2002

Ted the young Rock Wallaby,
From down old Uluru way,
Blew into town one Sat’day night,
And this he had to say:

Chorus
“I’m gonna be a rockstar!
I’m startin’ my own band.
If you wanna play then come down today,
We’re rockin’ by the dam.”

“I’m gonna play the guitar,
I need bass, drums and keys.
So come along and join the fun
We’ll rock right thru’ the trees!”

Wanda the wobbly wombat,
May laze around all day,
But when night time comes
She bangs those drums and rocks the night away.

Chorus

Emma Emu what an ace
She plucks those strings on the double bass
And sometimes when she plays a note
The sound comes right out of her throat

Chorus

Then there’s Gus goanna,
He’s a demon on the piano
He’ll use his tongue to play a song
And have us rockin’ all night long.

Chorus

There’s my mate Katie Kangaroo
Boy can she blow the didgeridoo
She’ll play and jump and jump and play
And have us rockin’ the night away.

Chorus x2

My Friend Freddy

Chorus
My friend Fred-dy
My friend Fred-dy
My friend Fred-dy is as big as can be
Only problem is no one can see him but me

Verse
My friend Fred-dy came over one day
We went into the garden and started to play
Well Fred-dy he went digging he made lots of holes
Pulled up all the flowers and drank from the dog’s bowl

Dad he came out and looked round the yard
He couldn’t see Fred-dy but he glared at me hard
I looked at his face he was mad as can be
I said, “Dad don’t be angry it was Fred-dy not me!”

Chorus

Well we went up-stairs into my sister’s room
Fred-dy jumped on her bed with his dirty shoes
He touched all her things and he tore up her books
Broke her favourite doll and gave it to me to look

Well wouldn’t you know it my sis walked in then
She took one look and she went off her head
She screamed and she shouted, she ranted and raved
I said, “Don’t yell at me it’s Fred-dy who can’t behave”

Chorus

Fred-dy he was hungry, he wanted to eat
We went into the kitchen so he could have a treat
He smashed all the eggs, banged all the pots and pans
Drank milk like a cat and smeared jam on his hands

With her hands on her hips in stormed mum
I knew I was in trouble I was ready to run
She gave me a look and said, “Did you make this mess?”
“No, don’t tell me it was Fred-dy I guess!”

I looked at my mum my eyes opened wide
Smiling at me she said, “You don’t have to hide.
Don’t be scared, I know it wasn’t you
‘Coz when I was little Fred-dy played with me to!”

Drank straight from the bottle and did not wash his hands
