Kiss Kiss

Written By: Andrea Louise

KISS KISS

The atmosphere is perfect
there's free drink and food
and everyone is doing what we're here to do

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

It's wonderful to see you!
Did you cut your hair?
You say your label dropped you?
Who's that over there?

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

I feel bad about it, darlin' - honestly;
it's such a dreadful shame
But better you than me

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

I think it's unprofessional to call me rude
I've simply got a winning player's attitude

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

Your status is advanced upon the friends you choose
the trick is knowing who to shmooze and who to lose

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

You wanna play the game, you gotta know the rules:
You play the game to win or else you're just a fool

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

Unlike so many people in this industry,
you always know exactly where you stand with me.

The mark of a true artist is to be sincere
you manufacture that, you're on your way, my dear

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

It's been a real pleasure to have met you here
you're thoroughly delightful and the reason's clear

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

You know just how to listen so responsively
too bad the only topic of our chat was me

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

I long to hear your thoughts and your philosophy
C'mon and tell me 'bout yourself:
What do you think of me?

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

They tell me I should be concerned about a fall
My answer is that it concerns me not at all

I'll always be on top because I live by this:
I know which cheek to turn
and I know whose to kiss
Like this

Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

The Invisible Sea

Written By: Andrea Louise

Pregnant sky hanging low
and it feels like it's spitting,
And I laugh at the thought
that it seems somehow fitting . . .

Faceless shapes in the mist
rolling silently past me;
Shadow palms loom beside
an invisible sea.

Each cold kiss of the rain
harkens images to me,
Through the mists of our past
like some haunting refrain;

When the taste of my lips
on your kisses would linger;
Trembling sighs rose and fell
an invisible sea.

I'm haunted by echoes of thundering hearts
where primitive drums beat through slippery skin

Our tale is rewritten; our song goes unsung
there remains but the sound and the chill of the sea.

They say time always heals,
and I want to believe it;
I'm told faith is a gift,
well, I'm here to receive it.

As the day slips away,
and the night falls around me,
Through the mist I can hear
the invisible sea.

As the day slips away,
and the shadows surround me,
Through the mist I can hear
the invisible sea

I remain just to hear
the invisible sea . . .

Nothing Changes

Written By: Andrea Louise

Nothing Changes
Upstairs at the Cliff House
she breakfasts with her champion
they dine upon a meal of dreams and tea.

Upstairs at the Cliff House
they attempt to make connection with
the people they perceive themselves to be

The spoon that holds her gaze reflects a world turned upside down
An irony completely lost on her

Nothing changes - if nothing changes
Nothing changes - if nothing changes

Retiring to his chambers
their bodies press together
amid photos of requited love and not requited love

At the moment of surrender
the other faces overwhelm her
she flees a possibility yet somehow still feels caught

The truth will make you free it's said
and I suppose that's true
But not before it brings you to your knees

Nothing changes - if nothing changes
Nothing changes - if nothing changes

The glass on the wall isn't fair to her at all.
She takes comfort in strangers, in attempts made to change
Her address and her name but the face in the frame
remains the same.

The truth will make you free it's said
and I suppose that's true
But not before it brings you to your knees

Nothing changes - if nothing changes
Nothing changes - if nothing changes
