Bio

My name is Andreas Aleman and I’d like to tell you a little about who I am and how I started my musical journey. I was born and raised in Södertälje, which is a town south of Stockholm, Sweden. When I was around 3 years old I started playing piano and accordion and writing simple songs. My parent’s tastes in music rubbed off on me at a young age and when I would come home from school I was a devout listener of their LPs with artists like Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and others. This exposed me to Soul, Funk, Blues, Gospel and good Pop music, which has influenced me in my writing, musical taste and music style. I played keyboards and sang in different bands during junior high, and when it was time to start high school I applied and was accepted into a music program where I studied for 3 years. I still look back on those days and memories with warmth and a great deal of gratitude; it was one of the best periods of my life. I discovered a lot of new music and new artists such as Michael McDonald, Toto, Tower of Power, Maceo Parker, Nils Landgren, Donny Hathaway, Prince, Michael Ruff etc.

While I was in school (and afterwards) I played and sang quite a bit around Stockholm, and for a number of years I played the piano for the Immanuel Gospel Choir, Stockholm East Gospel Choir and also other choirs. Playing and singing Gospel was a fantastic learning experience and I was lucky enough to work with many different musicians and artists from Sweden, the US and other countries. During this time I was also a member of the group, Funkisch. We wrote and played our own Funk and Fusion music even though it was not trendy at that time. But we didn’t care; we played for ourselves and had a great time; that was our main driving force, having a good time.

Later on I came into contact with songwriter and producer, Brian Hobbs (Eidolon Productions), and we started collaborating, which has resulted in a ton of great songs and productions as well as a strong friendship. Brian also has other talents; he makes an awesome “Chicken Scarpariello,” which has become one of my absolute favorite dishes thanks to him. (Brian… Udaman!)

I currently live in Stockholm with my family and I am active as an artist, songwriter and producer. I have had songs recorded by Italian superstar, Laura Pausini, Spanish artist, Rosa Lopez, and Gary Valenciano from the Philippines, just to name a few.

I am very proud to present my debut album, “This is life,” for which I acted as producer, writer, musician and vocalist. The album is a mix of Funk, Soul, Gospel and intimate ballads. Making the album was extremely fun yet also incredibly difficult and I don’t even want to think about how much time I spent in doing it…but now it’s finished and I have gotten incredibly positive response. Of course this makes me very happy so please take a listen!
